Heaviest Iron Maiden Songs After Paul Dianno
While Iron Maiden may not be the heaviest of the metal bands they have definitely released a few tracks that are surprisingly heavy. This list won't have any songs from the Paul Dianno era, as most of the list would be composed of them.It really isn't much of a competition when it comes to the number 1 heaviest Iron Maiden track, this is so close to thrash metal and Bruce's screams feel brutal.
This is another fairly fast song with heavy instrumentals. The instruments don't die down when Bruce sings like they do in most songs, it stays just as loud and powerful.
While Be Quick or Be Dead may be the fastest, most brutal track, Total Eclipse is heavy in a completely different way, the atmosphere is extremely haunting. I personally find this to be one of the highlights from the album because of how atmospheric the song is.
While I said that Bruce's singing sounded brutal on Be Quick or be Dead, he straight up sound evil and demonic here. While the instrumentals aren't the heaviest things they have done, the vocals are beyond vicious.
This is less brutal and more just so powerful that it feels like the riff is repeatedly kicking you in the face. It is much clearer and cleaner than most other songs on the list, but that riff alone puts this song on the list.
While I think that the song is terrible, you can't help but notice the obvious speed metal feel that the song has.
The entire Mater of Life and Death album was one of the heavier albums by Maiden, this is the heaviest of them due to the unbelievably thick atmosphere that the song has, this trait is shared with the rest of the album.
I've never seen a list I would agree with so much, including the items, the order and the comments.
The aggressive riffs combined with the gradual buildup, intense drum beats and gigantic solos make this a very heavy Maiden song.
Along with the general speed of the song, it has some of the most 'metal' lyrics I've heard from the band. Examples of this include 'the body bags and little rags of children torn in two' and ' we oil the jaws of the war machine and feed it with our babies.'
The riff in this song is extremely heavy and strange, while the rest of the song isn't that heavy, the first few minutes are pretty powerful.
