I don't know why gojira is Number 108 in this list. Their songs are so heavy. Heaviest Matter in the Universe!

This band makes me want to kill people.

Should be higher. Not the heaviest, but up there, and one of the best.

Heavy as balls, man. How is this so low?

110 Pig Destroyer Pig Destroyer

Their screams on Prowler in the Yard sound like a demented pig being tortured. When I listen to them, I picture a guy behind bars wearing a pig mask with blood pouring out of his mouth going crazy trying to get out. They are by far the most brutal band out there.

All of you that have made it this far on the list. This is #1, it must've been misplaced.

Top ten heavy pig destroyer shred your soul into shrapnel with their depraved murderous grind.

GUYS...
THIS IS THE HEAVIEST METAL BAND...
JUST CHECKOUT THE SONG.."PISS ANGEL"...IT IS THE HEAVIEST SONG ON THIS PLANET, ACCORDING TO ME...

OTHER SONGS TOO ARE HEAVY AS HELL...!

111 Manowar Manowar Manowar is an American heavy metal band from New York City, New York. Formed in 1980, the group is known for lyrics based on fantasy and mythology.

Definitely one of the heaviest bands out there. I saw them live once, and I felt like the bass obliterated my guts. The drums can be fast as they can be slow, but they never cease to blow your head full of lead. Hail and Kill!

Surprised they weren't on here already, some of the band already high on the list such as Linkin Park are just embarassing, and although I like Cradle of Filth, I wouldn't describe them as heavy.

In this list I prefer Metallica and priest but I really believe thet those guys are the heaviest ever... just hear the die for metal song!

112 Dimmu Borgir Dimmu Borgir Dimmu Borgir is a Norwegian symphonic black metal band from Oslo, Norway, formed in 1993. The name is derived from Dimmuborgir, a volcanic formation in Iceland, the name of which means "dark cities" or "dark castles/fortresses" in Icelandic, Faroese and Old Norse.

Ridiculous that Dimmu is not in the top ten. The list is HEAVIEST, people, not most popular! I..I

Dimmu Borgir should NOT be this far down!

Maybe not the 1st of all but of course Black METAL is waay heavier than Slayer & Metallica! Some poeple don't know, and also being the heaviest is not always the best

113 Melvins Melvins The Melvins are an American band that formed in 1983. They usually perform as a trio, but in recent years have performed as a four piece with two drummers.

Melvins aren't blast beat, Cookie Monster heavy. They're slow and chunky heavy and I like that. This is just a popularity contest.

I'm not sure how they're this low, but the list is clearly a popularity contest. - thjrmitchell

Listen to see how pretty see how smart. That's about as heavy as it gets.

114 Crowbar Crowbar Crowbar is an American sludge metal band from New Orleans, Louisiana, characterized by their extremely slow, low-keyed, heavy and brooding songs that also contain fast hardcore punk passages. V 1 Comment
115 D'erlanger
116 Chelsea Grin

Chelsea grin should be higher in this list. They are a lot heavier than five finger death punch.

Their much heavier compared to these other bands... Listen to their first EP and their first album... Fkcing amazing... Their newer stuff is okay too... Like the foolish ones and my damnation

This is what I call heavy. Not Metallica or Iron Maiden. No offense, but this destroys them. This is HEAVY

119 Boris Boris

Though their sound may encompass a wider range of genres, Boris personified heavy music in more ways than one. With aural techniques such as feedback, drone, atmosphere, etc, they've created their own awe-inducing musical pit of death. Gongs, e-bows, fuzz pedals, and other esoteric instruments are constantly at their disposal. This band has collaborated with several of the other big names in heavy music, like SunnO))), Ian Astbury, and Merzbow just to name a few. Over seventeen full album releases since their debut in 1996, not including various mash-ups, remixes, singles, and so forth. Their intensity is encapsulated in their refusal to subscribe to any particular credo, as they consistently defy all expectations of what heaviness means to their fans, and to their music. They are truly one-of-a-kind.

What that commenter said. boris are so heavy all the different boris.

120 Mortician Mortician Mortician is a two-piece brutal death metal band from Yonkers, New York founded in 1989. They have released most of their albums since the House by the Cemetery EP on Relapse Records but have released their latest album on their own label, Mortician Records.

So sad seeing such a heavy band doesn't get noticed.
