I don't know why gojira is Number 108 in this list. Their songs are so heavy. Heaviest Matter in the Universe!

This band makes me want to kill people.

Heavy as balls, man. How is this so low?

102 Machine Head Machine Head Machine Head is an American heavy metal band from Oakland, California. Formed on October 12, 1991, the group was founded by vocalist and guitarist Robb Flynn and bassist Adam Duce. They have received great critical success especially for their album "The Blackening" which is considered a modern metal more.

This band should be way higher. People on this list are just voting for their favorite bands.

How are they not on this list!? Obviously they have there softer songs, but songs like impirium, Halo, Locust and Davidian they are the so heavy its unreal!

Machine heady is very heavy top 20

Totally number one

103 Manowar Manowar Manowar is an American heavy metal band from New York City, New York. Formed in 1980, the group is known for lyrics based on fantasy and mythology.

Definitely one of the heaviest bands out there. I saw them live once, and I felt like the bass obliterated my guts. The drums can be fast as they can be slow, but they never cease to blow your head full of lead. Hail and Kill!

Surprised they weren't on here already, some of the band already high on the list such as Linkin Park are just embarassing, and although I like Cradle of Filth, I wouldn't describe them as heavy.

In this list I prefer Metallica and priest but I really believe thet those guys are the heaviest ever... just hear the die for metal song!

104 Dimmu Borgir Dimmu Borgir Dimmu Borgir is a Norwegian symphonic black metal band from Oslo, Norway, formed in 1993. The name is derived from Dimmuborgir, a volcanic formation in Iceland, the name of which means "dark cities" or "dark castles/fortresses" in Icelandic, Faroese and Old Norse.

Ridiculous that Dimmu is not in the top ten. The list is HEAVIEST, people, not most popular! I..I

Dimmu Borgir should NOT be this far down!

Maybe not the 1st of all but of course Black METAL is waay heavier than Slayer & Metallica! Some poeple don't know, and also being the heaviest is not always the best

105 Melvins Melvins The Melvins are an American band that formed in 1983. They usually perform as a trio, but in recent years have performed as a four piece with two drummers.

Melvins aren't blast beat, Cookie Monster heavy. They're slow and chunky heavy and I like that. This is just a popularity contest.

I'm not sure how they're this low, but the list is clearly a popularity contest. - thjrmitchell

Listen to see how pretty see how smart. That's about as heavy as it gets.

106 Crowbar Crowbar Crowbar is an American sludge metal band from New Orleans, Louisiana, characterized by their extremely slow, low-keyed, heavy and brooding songs that also contain fast hardcore punk passages. V 1 Comment
107 Rammstein Rammstein Rammstein is a German Neue Deutsche Härte and Industrial Metal band consisting of Till Lindemann (vocals), Richard Kruspe (guitar), Paul Landers (guitar), Oliver Riedel (electric bass), Christoph Schneider (drums) and Christian Lorenz (keyboard), that formed in 1994 in Berlin . more.

By far the heaviest band here. The problem is: They are really underrated

Heaviest industrial metal band

Pansexual teutonic cement rave.

Listen to Sonne, Mein Teil, Waidmanns Heil, Bück dich and Ich tu dir Weh and you'll know that Rammstein is heavier than Slayer/Slipknot/Cannibal Corpse etc... And metallica, iron maiden and motörhead, kiss etc aren't heavy at all

108 D'erlanger
109 Electric Wizard Electric Wizard Electric Wizard are an English doom metal band from Dorset, England. The band formed in 1993 and have recorded eight full length albums, two of which are now considered to be genre landmarks.

One word "Dopethrone". It really can't get any heavier than that! I really believe (in my opinion) that Avenge sevenfold is a joke band. Its hard for me to grasp a lot of these new bands that semi learn to play an instrument and change their name to something stupid that they feel sounds evil. Synyster HAHA! Joke

Yeah, this is just a popularity contest. This is definitely the heaviest band I've ever heard. Maybe not the best band in all categories, but in terms of heaviness Electric Wizard should be at least in the top 5.

How the hell is this band not even on the list, they are the heaviest band of all time, maybe not the best, but they are heavy as hell. Metallica is not very heavy, Slipknot isn't heavy, and Iron maiden isn't heavy. I like all those bands more than EW, but EW is the heaviest band of all time

Literally the heaviest band known to man

110 Chelsea Grin

Chelsea grin should be higher in this list. They are a lot heavier than five finger death punch.

Their much heavier compared to these other bands... Listen to their first EP and their first album... Fkcing amazing... Their newer stuff is okay too... Like the foolish ones and my damnation

This is what I call heavy. Not Metallica or Iron Maiden. No offense, but this destroys them. This is HEAVY

111 Parkway Drive Parkway Drive Parkway Drive is an Australian metalcore band from Byron Bay, New South Wales, formed in 2003. As of 2015, Parkway Drive has released five full-length albums, one EP, two DVDs, a split album and one book, titled Ten Years of Parkway Drive.

There goal is to make the heaviest music possible, they have succeeded

112 Dead End

morrie, crazy cool joe, minato, you. one of the most infuential japanese bands - ronluna

113 Boris Boris

Though their sound may encompass a wider range of genres, Boris personified heavy music in more ways than one. With aural techniques such as feedback, drone, atmosphere, etc, they've created their own awe-inducing musical pit of death. Gongs, e-bows, fuzz pedals, and other esoteric instruments are constantly at their disposal. This band has collaborated with several of the other big names in heavy music, like SunnO))), Ian Astbury, and Merzbow just to name a few. Over seventeen full album releases since their debut in 1996, not including various mash-ups, remixes, singles, and so forth. Their intensity is encapsulated in their refusal to subscribe to any particular credo, as they consistently defy all expectations of what heaviness means to their fans, and to their music. They are truly one-of-a-kind.

What that commenter said. boris are so heavy all the different boris.

114 Mortician Mortician Mortician is a two-piece brutal death metal band from Yonkers, New York founded in 1989. They have released most of their albums since the House by the Cemetery EP on Relapse Records but have released their latest album on their own label, Mortician Records.

So sad seeing such a heavy band doesn't get noticed.

#91? Really so sad

They are really super heavy.Should be in the top 10

115 Trivium Trivium Trivium are an American heavy metal band from Orlando, Florida, formed in 1999. After getting signed to Roadrunner Records in 2004, the band has released seven studio albums and nineteen singles.

Trivium is definitely heavier then Metallica. Metallica lost their originality after load. I'm disappointed that trivium is so far down. Metal core beats thrash metal any day when it comes to heaviness.

Metallica is definitely one of my favorite bands but is no way heavyier than most these bands, trivium Cradle of filth, thy art is murder, cannibal corpse, behemoth, dying fetus and infant annihilator should be near the top but it just goes to show the literal "band"wagons are going heavy with there soft rock and mediocre metal

116 Demon Hunter Demon Hunter

You must not be listening to these guys people. This band is the epitome of heavy metal, and their melodic, deep, unapologetic lyrics, combined with the most talented musicians make them hands down NUMBER
1, your all crazy. Now, GO LISTEN TO DEMON HUNTER and be easy on yourself for failing to recognize before now!

This band needs to be MUCH higher up on this list, honestly listen to songs like world is a thorn, or someone to hate. These guys are really talented

117 Mudvayne Mudvayne Mudvayne was an American heavy metal band from Peoria, Illinois formed in 1996. Originally from Bloomington, Illinois, they are known for their sonic experimentation, innovative album art, face and body paint, masks and uniforms.

These guys have a lot more of a punk mixture with their music. But they are definitely heavier then most bands. Dig is the perfect example. It's their heaviest. And it's their best song. So much power through out that song. This is pathetic how great bands are put down to such a low level.

118 Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin were an English rock band formed in London in 1968. The group consisted of Robert Plant (Vocal), Jimmy Page (Guitar), John Paul Jones (Bass, Keyboard) and John Bonham (Drums). The band's heavy, guitar-driven sound, rooted in blues and psychedelia on their early albums, has earned them recognition more.

Led zeppelin isn't even metal, they didn't call themselves metal and hated it when other people did. They shouldn't even be here, because on average they didn't even play that heavy. As far as metal goes, they just laid the foundations for bands like sabbath, iron maiden, and eventually Metallica itself, but Led Zeppelin was not metal. They're my favorite band of all time, but they don't belong on this list.

Led Zeppelin is a hard rock band, not a heavy metal band! They don't even belong in the top 200 in regards to heaviness!

Led Zeppelin might have been one of the heaviest bands in 70s, but they don't belong in the top 1000 now.

Doesn't get much heavier then dazed and confused, immigrant song, communication breakdown! Live zeppelin is a whole nother beast in itself (how the west was won) pure power!

119 Carnivore

Peter Steele is a genius and knows how to make a great band
