121 Trivium Trivium Trivium are an American heavy metal band from Orlando, Florida, formed in 1999. After getting signed to Roadrunner Records in 2004, the band has released seven studio albums and nineteen singles.

Trivium is definitely heavier then Metallica. Metallica lost their originality after load. I'm disappointed that trivium is so far down. Metal core beats thrash metal any day when it comes to heaviness.

Metallica is definitely one of my favorite bands but is no way heavyier than most these bands, trivium Cradle of filth, thy art is murder, cannibal corpse, behemoth, dying fetus and infant annihilator should be near the top but it just goes to show the literal "band"wagons are going heavy with there soft rock and mediocre metal

122 Demon Hunter Demon Hunter

You must not be listening to these guys people. This band is the epitome of heavy metal, and their melodic, deep, unapologetic lyrics, combined with the most talented musicians make them hands down NUMBER
1, your all crazy. Now, GO LISTEN TO DEMON HUNTER and be easy on yourself for failing to recognize before now!

This band needs to be MUCH higher up on this list, honestly listen to songs like world is a thorn, or someone to hate. These guys are really talented

123 Mudvayne Mudvayne Mudvayne was an American heavy metal band from Peoria, Illinois formed in 1996. Originally from Bloomington, Illinois, they are known for their sonic experimentation, innovative album art, face and body paint, masks and uniforms.

These guys have a lot more of a punk mixture with their music. But they are definitely heavier then most bands. Dig is the perfect example. It's their heaviest. And it's their best song. So much power through out that song. This is pathetic how great bands are put down to such a low level.

124 Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin were an English rock band formed in London in 1968. The group consisted of Robert Plant (Vocal), Jimmy Page (Guitar), John Paul Jones (Bass, Keyboard) and John Bonham (Drums). The band's heavy, guitar-driven sound, rooted in blues and psychedelia on their early albums, has earned them recognition ...read more.

Led zeppelin isn't even metal, they didn't call themselves metal and hated it when other people did. They shouldn't even be here, because on average they didn't even play that heavy. As far as metal goes, they just laid the foundations for bands like sabbath, iron maiden, and eventually Metallica itself, but Led Zeppelin was not metal. They're my favorite band of all time, but they don't belong on this list.

Led Zeppelin is a hard rock band, not a heavy metal band! They don't even belong in the top 200 in regards to heaviness!

Led Zeppelin might have been one of the heaviest bands in 70s, but they don't belong in the top 1000 now.

Doesn't get much heavier then dazed and confused, immigrant song, communication breakdown! Live zeppelin is a whole nother beast in itself (how the west was won) pure power!

125 Carnivore

Peter Steele is a genius and knows how to make a great band

127 Oceano

This band needs to be higher! Awesome band and the most excellent brutal vocals I've heard in a long time! These guys are so brutal, it puts Cannibal Corpse and Behemoth to shame! Make this band #1 or else!

Oceano NEEDS to be a lot higher, there is absolutely no way in hell that A7X is heavier than Oceano, or any deathcore, death metal, grindcore, thrash metal, black metal or doom metal band for that matter.

How the hell is Oceano below led zeppelin - Gamarax537

128 Mastodon Mastodon Mastodon is an American heavy metal band from Atlanta, Georgia, formed in early 2000 and composed of bassist Troy Sanders, guitarists Brent Hinds and Bill Kelliher and drummer Brann Dailor.

Good band, but not really that heavy compared to Nile or some of the other death metal bands.

Their new stuff no, but their old stuff (specifically Remission) is absolutely brutal. The Jazz influences in Brann's drumming is surprisingly pretty heavy, and the heavy use of pinch harmonics helps as well. And the vocals... So awesome. - AngryByrd

132 Overkill Overkill Overkill is an American thrash metal band, formed in 1980 in New Jersey. They have gone through many line-up changes, with singer Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth and bassist D.D.

Listen to horrorscope, evil never dies, or shred. And their newest album, the electric age is heavier than most metal albums nowadays.

133 Kyuss

Black Sabbath 2.0

134 Atheist Atheist Atheist is a progressive/technical death metal band from Florida, founded in 1984 by drummer Steve Flynn and singer/guitarist Kelly Shaefer.

Why does this list suck so bad, I've put in Obituary, Deicide, Morbid Angel, Immolation, Suffocation, Autopsy and Atheist because death metal is heavy for real. I know Iron Maiden and Judas Priest are skilled, but it's about heavy, and no genre is heavier than death metal.

Unholy war, No truth, or mother man's main riff

135 Converge

Go listen to Concubine, and Homewrecker, then try to tell me that these guys don't deserve to be in the top ten
