Heaviest Metal Songs of All Time

The Top Ten
1 Hammer Smashed Face - Cannibal Corpse Hammer Smashed Face - Cannibal Corpse Cover Art

Honestly I'm just a 13 year old boy and I'm a metal head who will form a band I'm a Christian and I listen to this stuff no joke I mean really who cares how bad this stuff is (even though it's really not) but I listen from Black Sabbath till now but anyway hammer CANNOT be beat due to the fact of its distorted and chunky riffs along with the intense breakdown that rips your face off you can't windmill enough from it and after the solo base at the beginning ends a intense ripping sound from a heavy chunky and distorted guitar comes around the corner with extreme brutal lyrics and low guttural growls I know it doesn't sound that intense but the drums add a more intense sound as well even bleed by
Meshuggah couldn't beat it cause it wasn't chunky enough and not enough distortion it was just heavy with base and not gonna lie I don't have words to describe its extreme heaviness but cannibal has it all and its heavy!

I find this song to be unlistenable, mostly because of the godawful vocals so yes, it is very heavy. Too heavy to be exact.

I'm happy to say I'm from the city that the band with the heaviest song ever is from

This is nowhere near the heaviest!

2 Bleed - Meshuggah Bleed - Meshuggah Cover Art

Machine gun riffs during a bend, complicated timings, bass drums following the guitars, 7 and a half minutes.
And the lyrics. Those metaphors are meant to describe the bleeding.
There's a reason why people vote this as the heaviest song ever.

People who think it's okay to write a song about being unable to stop bleeding and put complex polyrhythms and machine gun riffing are out of their minds!

Fight Fire With Fire: This makes Raining Blood and Angel of Death sound like a soft piano ballad.

Bleed: This makes Fight Fire With Fire sound like a soft piano ballad

This can't be beat. The complexity of the beats and rhythms make this song so extreme and head-banging material.

3 Spill the Dirty Blood of Jesus - Infernal War Spill the Dirty Blood of Jesus - Infernal War Cover Art

Lol, this black metal makes brutal death metal look for children.
This is faar heavier than hammer smashed face and the others songs of cannibal corpse, but unfortunately they are not as famous as they are and so people vote without listening

Check this out, guys. Slipknot? Slayer? Even Hammer Smashed Face isn't heavy enough compared to this song and some other really heavy songs on this list.

The heaviest song of all time. So abrasive and furious, and the lyrics (and the title) are pure anti Christianity!

Infernar War it's one of the heaviest bands I ever heard, but this song it's incredibly heavy even for them

4 Oh My F***ing God - Strapping Young Lad Oh My F***ing God - Strapping Young Lad Cover Art

The heaviest song ever. It's so hard to listen to, so abrasive and chaotic, not easy to follow, heavy is too little to even describe this song.
In conclusion, this makes Bleed by Meshuggah sound like a song made for babies.

Lol, this thrash metal makes blackened deathcore sound like 1950s soft rock.

This is the heaviest song of all time and I don't get why Slipknot's Disasterpiece is higher on the list. Even extremely brutal songs like Spill The Dirty Blood Of Jesus isn't as close to as heavy as this.
And consider the really chaotic Pandemonic Hyperblast, that is just 60% of this song's brutality!

This is the heaviest song in history! It's too heavy for thrash metal; it's something else, like thrashened slamming death metal.

The title is accurate with this track. If you're looking for something completely over the top yet want something that gets down to business without pulling any punches, than this is the song for you. The sheer energy, pacing of lyrics (try figuring out all the lyrics to the song without looking it up.), throat-curling screaming by Devin Townsend, which is then greeted by an absolute complete BREAKDOWN of guitars, drums, and ambience just puts this track on a whole other level beyond anything else.

You just need to listen to it yourself, Heavy is a massive understatement for this track.

5 Pandemonic Hyperblast - Anaal Nathrakh Pandemonic Hyperblast - Anaal Nathrakh Cover Art

"This makes Hammer Smashed Face seem like a weak song made by 4 year olds."
This makes Spill The Dirty Blood Of Jesus seem like a weak song made by 2 year olds!

Trust me, You don't know anything about heavy until you hear this, I am serious the only reason its this low is because its not a very known song (because it's so heavy).

This makes Hammer Smashed Face seem like a weak song made by 4 year olds.

6 Disasterpiece - Slipknot Disasterpiece - Slipknot Cover Art

Hell yeah ten ton hammer is on the list top ten (heaviest MH song) anyways the lyrics, screams, drums, guitar, and bass are just heavy its probaly the heaviest song I heard its close to be death metal

I'm not sure if SlipKnoT are the Heaviest Band but I'm pretty sure that Disasterpiece is the Heaviest Song

They aren't the heaviest band, but they have some of the heaviest songs on their Iowa album.

This above Slayer & Lamb of God? This is what's wrong with the metal community today.

7 Slaves Shall Serve - Behemoth Slaves Shall Serve - Behemoth Cover Art

I love this list is so good

Very good decision, but maybe Semhamforash is heavier

This schould be heaviest

8 Castigation and Betrayal - Anaal Nathrakh Castigation and Betrayal - Anaal Nathrakh Cover Art

This song begins with the heaviest and most disgusting of doom metal riffs, goes into extremely chaotic death metal for like 3 minutes, and goes back into that doom metal riff again!

That's the easiest way to make the heaviest song ever.

Oh jeez...what the hell did I just listen to?

This is so heavy, it's even unfair for a top

This is very heavy, yes.

9 Crown of Horns - Cryptopsy Crown of Horns - Cryptopsy Cover Art

LOL. According to this list Slipknot's Disasterpiece is much heavier than this...

10 Decapitation Fornication - Infant Annihilator Decapitation Fornication - Infant Annihilator Cover Art

Why is Slipknot's Disasterpiece and Meshuggah's Bleed higher than this?

This one is in the top 10, maybe top 5, or even top 3.

Why is Hammer Smashed Face on top.

You have to love the band name.

The Contenders
11 The Violation - Fleshgod Apocalypse The Violation - Fleshgod Apocalypse Cover Art

Hammer Smashed Face? Above this? This list is a joke.

Even Pandemonic Hyperblast by Anaal Nathrakh sounds quite soft compared to this monstrosity!

Way heavier than Spill The Dirty Blood Of Jesus by Infernal War, considering how brutal and in your face that song is.

This needs to be much higher. Very heavy and dense sound. Drums are really punishing.

One of the heaviest of all time and the heaviest symphonic metal song for sure!

12 Disemboweled Engorgement - Extermination Dismemberment Disemboweled Engorgement - Extermination Dismemberment Cover Art

Top 3 for sure. It's extremely heavy, way more heavy than most of the songs above it but not like Decapitation Fornication by Infant Annihilator, that song is at it's own level of heaviness that is just exceedingly high.

Heaviest slam song. There's only one song heavier than this. (Pandemonic Hyperblast)

This song gives me the stinkface big time! It's far heavier than other slam songs.

Heaviest song ever no doubt.

13 F**K Your God - Deicide F**K Your God - Deicide Cover Art

Could easily be in the top 10

Pretty damn brutal!

14 Fight Fire With Fire - Metallica Fight Fire With Fire - Metallica Cover Art

The heaviest song of all time. It's so aggressive, extreme, and hard to listen to, and the lyrics are so metal. Listen to it at full blast and tell me it doesn't deserve a spot on the list. It's as heavy as any death or black metal song.

What's all the hype about this song, yes Metallica can get pretty brutal although they're not a heavy band in general. This song is very heavy and maybe deserves top 200 or maybe top 100. But not top 15. It's just as heavy as Raining Blood and Angel of Death.

I mean, it's really heavy, the guitars sound more dense than Slayer, but it deserves to be number 100 rather than number 17. There's death/black/core/grind songs that are heavier than this.

Metallica aren't heavy, so how they be so high? Because of this song! This song is more brutal than all death metal songs because I don't think the drums contribute to heaviness! In that case this should be #1, vote up!

15 The Heretic Anthem - Slipknot The Heretic Anthem - Slipknot Cover Art

Heaviest song ever, can I think of anything that can beat this? This makes black metal sound like kids music.

This is more like death metal than nu metal!

16 Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis - Xavlegbmaofffassssitimiwoamndutroabcwapwaeiippohfffx Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis - Xavlegbmaofffassssitimiwoamndutroabcwapwaeiippohfffx Cover Art

Oh my god YES! It's finally here, I considerate this the heaviest metals song, I can lesting every song with maximum volume, but this song I can't play it so high, it really scares me

If the band logo is unreadable and the name is jibberish than you know its heavy

Yes, this song is just nonsense.

Just unbeatable

17 Angel of Death - Slayer Angel of Death - Slayer Cover Art

Listen guys, Slayer is good, but they're not the heaviest in any sense.

In any sense u don't know what your talking about they are the heaviest, just not the most brutal.

This song isn't heavy compared to some of the other songs on this list

Why is slayer on here

18 Flying Whales - Gojira Flying Whales - Gojira Cover Art

That disgustingly slow breakdown at the 6 and a third minute mark is one of the heaviest riffs ever.

The second half is like near-indescribably brutal.

Heaviest Matter of The Universe should be on here...

Second half is so crushing!

19 Raining Blood - Slayer Raining Blood - Slayer Cover Art

How is this not the heaviest song ever I mean common ITS SLAYER

"How is this not the heaviest song ever I mean common ITS SLAYER"
You probably don't know other extreme bands besides Slayer then...

God damn it so low

20 People = s*** - Slipknot

Lol, this nu metal makes death metal sound like soft rock.
The intro is far heavier than the heaviest songs combined and the fact that this list says that there is 2 Slipknot songs heavier than this just confuses me. This is the most brutal song of all time and this should be considered extreme alternative death metal. Get this to number one now.

Even though Slipknot is not in any way shape or form the heaviest band ever, this takes the cake, runs home, and eats it. This is the heaviest Nu Metal will EVER get.

The heaviest song ever. This makes Hammer Smashed Face sound like a lullaby for 2 day olds! It's just so angry and abrasive.

Hammer Smashed Face and Bleed sound quite soft compared to that inhuman dreadful intro.

21 Ora Pro Nobis Lucifer - Behemoth Ora Pro Nobis Lucifer - Behemoth Cover Art

Heaviest Song Ever. - GreenDayFan21

22 Demigod - Behemoth Demigod - Behemoth Cover Art
23 Guardians of Asgaard - Amon Amarth Guardians of Asgaard - Amon Amarth Cover Art
24 Invert the Idols - Dying Fetus Invert the Idols - Dying Fetus Cover Art

Everyone knows Dying Fetus is one of the heaviest bands ever, and this is at 29?!

Of course, a Dying Fetus song has to be in the top 10 heaviest of all time.

Dying Fetus is one of the heaviest bands ever!

Hammer Smashed Face is soft compared to this.

25 Scars of the Crucifix - Deicide Scars of the Crucifix - Deicide Cover Art

This is pretty damn heavy, lots of machine gun riffs!
