The Top Ten

1 Hammer Smashed Face - Cannibal Corpse

Honestly I'm just a 13 year old boy and I'm a metal head who will form a band I'm a Christian and I listen to this stuff no joke I mean really who cares how bad this stuff is (even though it's really not) but I listen from Black Sabbath till now but anyway hammer CANNOT be beat due to the fact of its distorted and chunky riffs along with the intense breakdown that rips your face off you can't windmill enough from it and after the solo base at the beginning ends a intense ripping sound from a heavy chunky and distorted guitar comes around the corner with extreme brutal lyrics and low guttural growls I know it doesn't sound that intense but the drums add a more intense sound as well even bleed by
Meshuggah couldn't beat it cause it wasn't chunky enough and not enough distortion it was just heavy with base and not gonna lie I don't have words to describe its extreme heaviness but cannibal has it all and its heavy!

Well heavy but there are other heavier songs from Cannibal Corpse that haven't been mentioned here. - GREYBOYY

This list is awful - ryanrimmel

Listening to it right now

2 Bleed - Meshuggah

This can't be beat. The complexity of the beats and rhythms make this song so extreme and head-banging material. - Dorito

This song is the gold standard which all other heavy metal songs should be judged against.

Nothing out there is like this.

You cannot be a metalhead and not headbang to bleed!

3 Oh My F***ing God - Strapping Young Lad

Happy Camper is way more heavy than this song, but is heavier than a few of the songs above it.

Top 5 material easily. - cjWriter1997

The title is accurate with this track. If you're looking for something completely over the top yet want something that gets down to business without pulling any punches, than this is the song for you. The sheer energy, pacing of lyrics (try figuring out all the lyrics to the song without looking it up.), throat-curling screaming by Devin Townsend, which is then greeted by an absolute complete BREAKDOWN of guitars, drums, and ambience just puts this track on a whole other level beyond anything else.

You just need to listen to it yourself, Heavy is a massive understatement for this track. - BloodyThunderX

4 Pandemonic Hyperblast - Anaal Nathrakh

Trust me, You don't know anything about heavy until you hear this, I am serious the only reason its this low is because its not a very known song (because it's so heavy). - Mcflupy

This makes Hammer Smashed Face seem like a weak song made by 4 year olds.

Underrated in this list, should be in the top 3.

I like anaal but go check out "devourment". Heck, ALMOST ALL SLAM BANDS SHOULD BE IN THIS LIST. WHY THE HELL IS SLIPKNOT IN THIS LIST!

5 Disasterpiece - Slipknot

I hoped to see such bands like 5FDP, Meshuggah, Melvins, Electric Wizard, Melvins, Crowbar and etc..

They aren't the heaviest band, but they have some of the heaviest songs on their Iowa album. - SirSkeletorThe3rd

This above Slayer & Lamb of God? This is what's wrong with the metal community today.

>slipknot is ranked higher than Deicide

6 Spill the Dirty Blood of Jesus - Infernal War

Check this out, guys. Slipknot? Slayer? Even Hammer Smashed Face isn't heavy enough compared to this song and some other really heavy songs on this list. - Metal_Treasure

Lol, this black metal makes brutal death metal look for children.
This is faar heavier than hammer smashed face and the others songs of cannibal corpse, but unfortunately they are not as famous as they are and so people vote without listening - Rapamafiosa

This makes Raining Blood by Slayer look like a soft rock song - christangrant

7 Slaves Shall Serve - Behemoth

I love this list is so good

This schould be heaviest

8 Angel of Death - Slayer

Listen guys, Slayer is good, but they're not the heaviest in any sense. - ThatoneMetalhead

Why is slayer on here

In any sense u don't know what your talking about they are the heaviest, just not the most brutal.

9 Crown of Horns - Cryptopsy
10 Castigation and Betrayal - Anaal Nathrakh

The Contenders

11 Ora Pro Nobis Lucifer - Behemoth

Heaviest Song Ever. - GreenDayFan21

12 Scars of the Crucifix - Deicide
13 Demigod - Behemoth
14 Raining Blood - Slayer

How is this not the heaviest song ever I mean common ITS SLAYER

"How is this not the heaviest song ever I mean common ITS SLAYER"
You probably don't know other extreme bands besides Slayer then...

15 I Am the Wrath of Gods and the Desolation of the Earth - Anaal Nathrakh
16 Maze of Torment - Morbid Angel
17 Scrolls of the Megilloth - Mortification

Great album. I consider the songs "Terminate Damnation" and "Eternal Lamentation" from the same album a bit heavier, though.

I am surprised this unknown Christian Rock band got a song on this list.

18 Return to the Morbid Reich - Vader
19 Annihilation of the Wicked - Nile
20 Psywar - Mayhem

Its Great!

21 Carrionshine - Cryptopsy
22 The Violation - Fleshgod Apocalypse

This needs to be much higher. Very heavy and dense sound. Drums are really punishing. - Metal_Treasure

23 Hammer Down the Nails - Vital Remains
24 Hordes to War - Immortal
25 Immolation - Immolation
26 Zombie Ritual - Death

Best and heaviest guitar work.

27 F**K Your God - Deicide
28 You Will Never Be One of Us - Nails
29 Demonized - Gruesome
30 Ten Ton Hammer - Machine Head
31 Jesus Saves - Slayer
32 People = s*** - Slipknot

Even though Slipknot is not in any way shape or form the heaviest band ever, this takes the cake, runs home, and eats it. This is the heaviest Nu Metal will EVER get. - ThatoneMetalhead

Pfft. - Fiend

It’s to heavy for nu-metal it’s something else.

33 Fight Fire With Fire - Metallica

Metallica is melodic thrash band, but this one is an extreme metal song at all, how the hell would Master of Puppets heavier than this? It's just an other list which based on popularity or heavy only for the mainstream.

This will make Master of Puppets cry like a little girl.

Metallica's heaviest in my opinion

34 Two Pound Torch - Cryptopsy
35 Apocalyptic Feasting - Brain Drill
36 Funeralopolis - Electric Wizard

Number 1 no questions asked

37 Children of the Grave - Black Sabbath

This song is heavy for 1971, but not heavy enough to be one of the heaviest songs ever...

How is this in this list?! - GREYBOYY

LOL, LOL. Why is this song even on the list? - Metal_Treasure

38 Pleasure to Kill - Kreator
39 Laid to Rest - Lamb of God
40 Kafir! - Nile
41 Panzer Division Marduk - Marduk
42 Big Man with a Gun - Nine Inch Nails
43 Vultures Descend - Disentomb
44 Master of Puppets - Metallica

Another list which based on popularity, not really heavy...

As if, kids. - AdamDestructorJr.

45 Denial of Life - Death

Heaviest Metal Song ever, deep growling vocals and ultra fast drumming in this song is crazy. - GREYBOYY

46 Twilight of the Thunder God - Amon Amarth
47 Bewitched - Candlemass
48 5 Minutes Alone - Pantera
49 Entombment of a Machine - Job for a Cowboy

This is truly heavy. - Fiend

50 N.W.O. - Ministry
