Heaviest Metal Songs of All Time

The Top Ten
1 Bleed - Meshuggah

The heaviest part is the transition from the soft synth bridge back to the main part that hits harder than any other song on earth. Normally, the heaviest songs are completely heavy throughout but this is an relentless exception.

I'll admit hammer smashed face is really heavy, but it's actually a terrible song.

I picked Bleed because Meshuggah is WAY better than Cannibal Corpse. Meshuggah's worst is still better than cannibal corpse.

Machine gun riffs during a bend, complicated timings, bass drums following the guitars, 7 and a half minutes.
And the lyrics. Those metaphors are meant to describe the bleeding.
There's a reason why people vote this as the heaviest song ever.

People who think it's okay to write a song about being unable to stop bleeding and put complex polyrhythms and machine gun riffing are out of their minds!

2 Hammer Smashed Face - Cannibal Corpse

I find this song to be unlistenable, mostly because of the godawful vocals so yes, it is very heavy. Too heavy to be exact.

This is nowhere near the heaviest!

It is actual heavy.

3 Spill the Dirty Blood of Jesus - Infernal War

Check this out, guys. Slipknot? Slayer? Even Hammer Smashed Face isn't heavy enough compared to this song and some other really heavy songs on this list.

The heaviest song of all time. So abrasive and furious, and the lyrics (and the title) are pure anti Christianity!

Castigation And Betrayal by Anaal Nathrakh sounds pretty quiet compared to this.

4 Oh My F***ing God - Strapping Young Lad

The title is accurate with this track. If you're looking for something completely over the top yet want something that gets down to business without pulling any punches, than this is the song for you. The sheer energy, pacing of lyrics (try figuring out all the lyrics to the song without looking it up.), throat-curling screaming by Devin Townsend, which is then greeted by an absolute complete BREAKDOWN of guitars, drums, and ambience just puts this track on a whole other level beyond anything else.

You just need to listen to it yourself, Heavy is a massive understatement for this track.

Lol, this thrash metal makes blackened deathcore sound like 1950s soft rock.

This is the heaviest song of all time and I don't get why Slipknot's Disasterpiece is higher on the list. Even extremely brutal songs like Spill The Dirty Blood Of Jesus isn't as close to as heavy as this.
And consider the really chaotic Pandemonic Hyperblast, that is just 60% of this song's brutality!

The heaviest song ever. It's so hard to listen to, so abrasive and chaotic, not easy to follow, heavy is too little to even describe this song.
In conclusion, this makes Bleed by Meshuggah sound like a song made for babies.

What the hell did I just listen to?! How heavy is this? You are kidding me a song like this is considered thrash!

5 Disasterpiece - Slipknot

They aren't the heaviest band, but they have some of the heaviest songs on their Iowa album.

This above Slayer & Lamb of God? This is what's wrong with the metal community today.

I hoped to see such bands like 5FDP, Meshuggah, Melvins, Electric Wizard, Melvins, Crowbar and etc..

Leave this Slipknot thing already please, they aren't even true metal...

6 Slaves Shall Serve - Behemoth

Why is Disasterpiece higher than this?!

7 Pandemonic Hyperblast - Anaal Nathrakh

Trust me, You don't know anything about heavy until you hear this, I am serious the only reason its this low is because its not a very known song (because it's so heavy).

"This makes Hammer Smashed Face seem like a weak song made by 4 year olds."
This makes Spill The Dirty Blood Of Jesus seem like a weak song made by 2 year olds!

Jesus, what did I just witness. If any song makes by speakers blow up, this will be it.

8 Decapitation Fornication - Infant Annihilator

Why is Slipknot's Disasterpiece and Meshuggah's Bleed higher than this?

This song is pretty damn brutal. Especially the B-C-D#-D 16th notes with kick drums following it.

1. Decapitation Fornication Infant Annihilator
2. Suicide Note Part 2 Pantera
3. Carrionshine Cryptopsy
4. Invert The Idols Dying Fetus
5. The Carbon Stampede Cattle Decapitation
6. Disembowled Engorgement Extermination Dismemberment
7. People = S Slipknot
8. 666 Slaughter To Prevail
9. F Your God Deicide
10. The Heretic Anthem Slupknot

This one is in the top 10, maybe top 5, or even top 3.

Why is Hammer Smashed Face on top.

9 Disemboweled Engorgement - Extermination Dismemberment

Top 3 for sure. It's extremely heavy, way more heavy than most of the songs above it but not like Decapitation Fornication by Infant Annihilator, that song is at it's own level of heaviness that is just exceedingly high.

If you think Disasterpiece is heavier than this, you've got problems.

Heaviest slam song. There's only one song heavier than this. (Pandemonic Hyperblast)

You can't match this, just can't and never will!

10 F**K Your God - Deicide

This is inarguably the heaviest song of all time!

Pretty damn brutal!

The Contenders
11 Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis - Xavlegbmaofffassssitimiwoamndutroabcwapwaeiippohfffx

I considerate this the heaviest metal song.

Yes, this song is just nonsense.

12 The Heretic Anthem - Slipknot

Heaviest song ever, can I think of anything that can beat this? This makes black metal sound like kids music.

If you're 555, then I'm 666!
If you're 555, then I'm 666!
If you're 555, then I'm 666!
What's it like to be a heretic?
If you're 555, then I'm 666!
What's it like to be a heretic?

If you 555 and I 666
If you 555 and I 666
If you 555 and I 666
What's it like to be heretic?
If you 555 and I 666
What's it like to be heretic?

If you're 555, then I'm 666!
This song has a catchy chorus, but the rest of it is beyond heavy.

13 Crown of Horns - Cryptopsy
14 Angel of Death - Slayer

Listen guys, Slayer is good, but they're not the heaviest in any sense.

Why is slayer on here

This song isn't heavy compared to some of the other songs on this list

15 Fight Fire With Fire - Metallica

What's all the hype about this song, yes Metallica can get pretty brutal although they're not a heavy band in general. This song is very heavy and maybe deserves top 200 or maybe top 100. But not top 15. It's just as heavy as Raining Blood and Angel of Death.

The heaviest song of all time. It's so aggressive, extreme, and hard to listen to, and the lyrics are so metal. Listen to it at full blast and tell me it doesn't deserve a spot on the list. It's as heavy as any death or black metal song.

Metallica is melodic thrash band, but this one is an extreme metal song at all, how the hell would Master of Puppets heavier than this? It's just an other list which based on popularity or heavy only for the mainstream.

Metallica aren't heavy, so how they be so high? Because of this song! This song is more brutal than all death metal songs because I don't think the drums contribute to heaviness! In that case this should be #1, vote up!

16 Ora Pro Nobis Lucifer - Behemoth
17 Demigod - Behemoth
18 Scars of the Crucifix - Deicide

This song is far too low. In fact this is a dark sounding heavy. It's one of the slower ones on this list, stop saying only fast songs are heavy.

This is pretty damn heavy, lots of machine gun riffs!

Come on why is this not in first place.

Probably the heaviest song ever.

19 Hunting and Gathering (Cydonia) - Sunn O)))

If you ever heard stories about people listening to them live...

20 People = s*** - Slipknot

Lol, this nu metal makes death metal sound like soft rock.
The intro is far heavier than the heaviest songs combined and the fact that this list says that there is 2 Slipknot songs heavier than this just confuses me. This is the most brutal song of all time and this should be considered extreme alternative death metal. Get this to number one now.

Even though Slipknot is not in any way shape or form the heaviest band ever, this takes the cake, runs home, and eats it. This is the heaviest Nu Metal will EVER get.

The heaviest song ever. This makes Hammer Smashed Face sound like a lullaby for 2 day olds! It's just so angry and abrasive.

Hammer Smashed Face and Bleed sound quite soft compared to that inhuman dreadful intro.

21 Invert the Idols - Dying Fetus

Everyone knows Dying Fetus is one of the heaviest bands ever, and this is at 29?!

Of course, a Dying Fetus song has to be in the top 10 heaviest of all time.

This is the heaviest song in the universe no doubt.

Dying Fetus is one of the heaviest bands ever!

22 Castigation and Betrayal - Anaal Nathrakh

This song begins with the heaviest and most disgusting of doom metal riffs, goes into extremely chaotic death metal for like 3 minutes, and goes back into that doom metal riff again!

That's the easiest way to make the heaviest song ever.

I've only heard Pandemonic Hyperblast before, but this is so chaotic as well, it makes Slayer sound mellow in comparison to this song. This is just as heavy as it gets

This song will make you scream along, but not in the way you expect.

23 Entombment of a Machine - Job for a Cowboy

This is truly heavy.

24 Raining Blood - Slayer

"How is this not the heaviest song ever I mean common ITS SLAYER"
You probably don't know other extreme bands besides Slayer then...

God damn it so low

25 Forced Gender Reassignment - Cattle Decapitation

This is the heaviest song in the world. It's disgusting lyrically and physically.

This sounds just like Cannibal Corpse.
