Weekly Top Adult Contemporary Songs Ranked (July 29, 2017)

Here's the link to the chart. http://www.billboard.com/charts/adult-contemporary

Irredeemable:
None (In a year as awful as this one, that's a relief)

Abysmal:
20.) Shape of You - Ed Sheeran (It's still as lazy as before)
19.) Treat You Better - Shawn Mendes (The only reason why this isn't last is because this at least has a little effort into the instrumentals)
18.) Believer - Imagine Dragons (WHY ARE YOU YELLING?)
17.) Save as Draft - Katy Perry (How did this get on here)

Horrible:
16.) Don't Wanna Know - Adam Levine (Fun fact: the version I hear on radio scraps off Kendrick's verse, making this .. better)
15.) Play that Song - Train (I don't even hate Train as much as everyone else, but this ...)
14.) Stay - Zedd ft. Alessia Cara (The reason this is lower than before is because the drop got worse, as it reminds me of a louder Closer)

Bad:
13.) Something Just Like This - The Chainsmokers ft. Coldplay (Roses similarities aside, the drop doesn't even deliver the payoff that Roses had)

Meh:
12.) Scars to Your Beautiful - Alessia Cara (I want to like her, but I can't)
11.) Let Me Love You - DJ Snake ft. Justin Bieber (Oh, look who's still around)
10.) Say You Won't Let Go - James Arthur (I'm starting to cool down on the lyrical structure a little, so this might be a 5 in the future)
9.) Mercy - Shawn Mendes (Thank goodness the overplay has been fading with this)

Mediocre
8.) Cold - Adam Levine ft. Future (Their best song in years)

Decent:
7.) That's What I Like - Bruno Mars (I still kinda like this, but I really don't want to hear it again on radio)

Good:
6.) Water Under the Bridge - Adele (River Lea would've been a much better release)
5.) There's Nothin' Holdin Me Back - Shawn Mendes (Wow, this is the 3rd Mendes song on here)

Great:
4.) It Ain't Me - Kygo ft. Selena Gomez (Since this may be the best thing Selena will release this year, I might as well enjoy it)

Fantastic:
3.) Castle on the Hill - Ed Sheeran (Still amazing)
2.) Million Reasons - Lady Gaga (Glad she's still around)

Excellent:
1.) Love on the Brain - Rihanna (Yep, I still absolutely adore it)

Score: 90/200 (45%). Here's a fun fact: Kelly Clarkson's It's Quiet Uptown cover actually peaked at the bottom of the chart back in January, and then immediately fell off after a week. You'd think that one of the most successful acts on the AC chart would stay longer and offer a breath of fresh air. Also, Body Like a Back Road is in the bottom 5 of the chart right now, so I really hope it doesn't make the top 20 at all.
