The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge takes on the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, usually in this order, and in under 12 hours. These peaks form part of the Pennine range, and encircle the head of the valley of the River Ribble, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
We provide some services similar to those provided elsewhere by district and county councils. For example, we are the local planning authority. Most of the things we do, however, are particular to national park authorities.
We are delighted to be sponsoring the iconic Three Peaks Race for a third year. The 2017 race was a hugely enjoyable event and we’re eagerly looking forward to our return to Horton-in-Ribblesdale. Working alongside Pete Bland Sports, we will be out in force at the 64th annual running of the event, so watch out for us in the start/finish field and up on the peaks.

First of all it’s not a website where you will find descriptions of my latest walks but rather it’s a blog/website where you will find all sorts of information not only about walking in Yorkshire but also about anything that makes this beautiful county so distinctive. However I believe that the best way to discover a place is by walking. So yes, there is a lot about walking but not only that.
