Top Ten House Rules to Add to Monopoly

The Top Ten
1 Free Parking

This is my personal favorite, where you put a 500 in the middle, and it will be Free Parking money. Any money paid to Taxes, Chance, or Community Chest goes to the middle. The first person to land on Free Parking wins all the money, and the process is repeated.

My house has this rule! Except for the 500 thing.

I thought we were the only ones!

Ever heard of Make Your Own?

2 Wait To Buy

This rule is where you must go around the board once to buy properties. Helps prevent a traffic jam when first buying.

This is rule in my house!

3 Landing On Go

Another house rile is where when you land on go, the money collected is double. Can be played in many ways.

I also have this rule.

4 Items Bargaining

This is where, instead of having to pay the money full to pay off rent, if the rent is a lot and you can't afford it, a rule you can use is to instead give away full properties, unmortgaged, if the owner and the renter can both agree.

5 Snake Eyes

A rule my family uses is where if you roll a 2, you collect 500.

6 Railroad Unclearness

The railroads say "If 2 are owned", but it doesn't specify who owns them. You can decide if the player must own the railroads to count for increased rent, or if them being owned by ANYONE can increase rent.

7 You Remind, You Pay

If you remind the owner of a property to collect rent, or otherwise boast about not paying and them having to, then YOU pay half. This makes getting a "free stay" easier.

8 Finders Keepers!

This is where if you play on a table, and you drop money, the first player to find it gets to keep the money for themselves.

9 No Auctions

It's simple. The whole auction rule is scrapped.

10 Sell The Cards!

You can sell Get Out Of Jail Free Cards for 50 in this rule.

11 If you don't pay attention when someone lands on your property and the next person rolls, the person who landed on your property doesn't have to pay you any rent
