Top 10 Houston Texans Draft Busts

Houston is the youngest squad to enter the NFL, and thus being the most difficult of them all to really find the biggest busts out there since majority of the first round picks were actually pretty great in comparison.
The Top Ten
1 David Carr

''Over his five seasons as the Texans starter, Carr compiled a record of 22-53. He averaged just over 176 passing yards per game. His quarterback rating was 75.5. He only had one season where he threw for more than 3,000 yards. He had 59 touchdowns and 65 interceptions.'' Although he barely had any help at his protecting disposal he did fight pretty hard with a lotta guts, and pride for a big time bust to begin a franchise.

He suffered from being the first quarterback for an expansion team, which is not an enviable position to be in. Tim Couch suffered the same fate for the expansion Browns.

2 Jason Babin

''Jason Babin was drafted to be the game-changing pass rusher for the Texans. The good news is that Babin spent the 2010 season being that type of pass rusher. The bad news is that it was for the rival Tennessee Titans.''

3 Travis Johnson

''Johnson qualifies as a bust both on and off the field. His apparent lack of interest showed. Over his four seasons in a Texans uniform, Johnson totaled two sacks and 80 tackles. That's 20 tackles per season. I realize that defensive tackle isn't exactly a position where one can pile up gaudy statistics, but that's lousy production no matter how you cut it. His struggles weren't for a lack of playing time or patience on the part of the Texans. Johnson started 38 of the 54 games he played in Houston.''

4 Amobi Okoye

''The Texans have moved Okoye around on the line, played him next to different guys and set up blitz packages to help him. His production, though, has plateaued. His sack total over the last three seasons has equaled his total from his rookie season. Okoye finds himself possibly on his last legs as a Texan. He is still under contract with the Texans, but when his contract is up, you'd have to imagine that the Texans can find the type of production he is giving them for much cheaper than Okoye's first round draft pick money.''

5 Jabar Gaffney

Like Carr he was put in a lotta pressure when he was the second pick that year he had decent yards, but his touchdowns were very low thus eventually he went to New England, and got slightly better thanks to Bill Belichick voodoo magic, It never worked in Houston.

6 Tony Hollings

''Hollings lost the speed that he had before the knee injury and other nagging injuries popped up during his time in Houston. He ran for only 149 yards on 49 attempts with no touchdowns in 2003. He tried to make a comeback in in 2008 in the German Football League, but an injury ended his career a year later.
The Texans were trying to find a steal in the supplemental draft, but instead, wasted a second-round pick for a brittle running back that lost his zip back in college.''

7 Bennie Joppru

''Joppru was already dealing with a groin injury, then a serious knee injury forced him to sit out for three years before he could get to play a down with the Texans. He did play a game in 2006, his first " and last game as a Texan.

He was cut later that season, then picked up by Seattle and played 18 games for the Seahawks from 2006 to 2007, mostly playing special teams. He was cut after 2007 and his career was over.''

8 Ben Tate

Tate was an almost first round type back who ended up being a wasted pick who amounted to nothing in Houston while Arian Foster was an unknown tearing it up in the league. Meanwhile leaving Texans to made a tough decision by letting him go bounce by three different teams in 2014 only to realize that would be the end to his short lived 4 seasons.

9 Xavier Su'a-Filo

A very terrible rubbish guard who did nothing to help the offense when he was trying to protect for his own life in the process in whcih he had issues getting onto the field.

10 Kevin Johnson

I mean I know he is there when it counts, but the guy is getting outplayed by teammate Jonathan Joesph I mean... what does that say for a guy your suppose to replace long term?
