1 Add flaws

This list is helpful. I look at it and go over all of my characters every once in awhile. So far no sues or stus

2 Don't make the character take the spotlight to your other characters
3 Just add one crush on your character or no crushes if you want
4 Add a character who hates your character
5 Don't make them to pretty or handsome
6 Don't say that characters look like this: her lips is as red as a rose blood and pure as crystal

That's a Snow White version of Mary Sue.

8 Add adventure
9 Add problems
10 Take your time

11 Make sure they are in a setting/settings where their flaws are exposed

Like, if they were a soldier in war, maybe they have begun fearing the sound of gunfire and get a panic attack in the midst of a battefield.

12 Give them actual flaws that gave them actual problems
13 Don't give them too many skills
14 Don’t make a character the only good one, or make others look bad and more flawed
15 Add personalities
16 Don't make the character have more screen time than your other characters
