Most Iconic 60s Songs
A much tougher list to compile, I've found. I've left out a LOT of great songs you're welcome to add yourselves. For starters, I tried to limit things to one song per artist, or else this would be full of Beatles, Creedence, and Beach Boys songs. There's a reason why this 1969 classic features as the theme song to "The Wonder Years". It's THE song of the late 60s. The Beatles version just doesn't compare.
My favourite Beatles song, I'll openly confess to bias here. Feel free to add others if you feel they're more iconic.
I love this song! It's probably my favorite from them, too!
Very awesome song.
It’s a very relaxing song with a great melody.
I personally prefer "Proud Mary", but this is by far the more iconic Creedence song of the late 60s.
This one takes me back to the 60s in an instant...and I was born in 1980.
Decade defining song.
It's The Beach Boys. It's Pet Sounds. It's the late 60s. It's poetry set to music.
The film is set in 1959, the song was released in 1961-2, oddly enough.
From the era that gave you The Beatles, The Kinks, The Byrds, etc. Beautiful song.
This is such an underrated and happy pop song.
Stunningly beautiful, haunting song.
This had to be here, even if it's not a personal favourite of mine particularly. Some might even rank it #1.
I struggled to find room for this on the list, so I'm glad someone added it even if it's probably my fourth or fifth favourite Doors song.
Oh yes, this is my fave Beatles song!
Any 60s Stones song probably deserves a mention, I settled on this one.
One of my favourite Beatles songs, underrated album too.
This is one of the creepiest songs ever! I swear this song is demonically posessed.
Great, iconic rock song.
