English is my least favourite subject but what I think is the most important subject. It's the world's international language and is everywhere; it is absolutely needed for everything in order to be successful. You need it for job interviews to look good for the job, to learn other subjects well and even doing ordinary things like going to the shop. I find it extremely difficult at school to learn at a sophisticated high standard, and I much prefer maths, or a more logical subject, but you really can't live without English.

Although English is probably my least favorite subject, I still think it's the most important. Everyone needs English in order to communicate with others and to receive information. Without good reading and listening skills we would not be able to learn effectively in all our other subjects. Without good writing and speaking skills we would not be able to communicate effectively with others. Proficiency in English is necessary in almost all aspects of our lives, as we use it to learn, to communicate, and to think.

English is THE most important subject because it is the only one you can't "cheat" your way out of. Math gives us calculators. With science and history, a simple google search can give you the answers you want. Every other subject relies on facts and figures you can easily obtain in seconds. But English isn't facts and figures - it's a way of life. It encompasses every other subject area of our lives. Speech, reading, writing. In personal life, business, and everything in between. How we sound in our speech and our writing is society's first critique of us. It determines whether or not we sound educated.

English is the most important subject because it precedes every other subject! If you don't learn English, you can't learn science, history, math, or anything else. You have to learn English before you can study anything else. It's absurd how anyone could think there is a more important subject than English.

English is the most important subject because in English you learn how to speak properly, read because you pretty much have to read everything if there was no English there would be no Maths. English is speaking so pretty much if you can speak your good at English but no speaking no writing no reading our world would be a bunch of idiots.

English is the most important subject in the world because with out it you will never know how to do math, science and many other things and also you will never get a job because everything in one point has to do with words and stuff like that and that is English.

And when you think about preachers that's basically what they do Compare and Contrast, Text to text, Text to self, Text to world, connections of the bible and how it relates to the real world and plus if you can't pronounce the words out of your mouth you can't teach me anything especially if you're a teacher or a scientists.

Everything in the world requires good reading and writing skills. The average Joe will never have to know the periodic table, or the parts of a cell, or the quadratic equation, or why Andrew Jackson dissolved the bank of the United States, but everyone who wants so succeed in life must know how to read and write well.

Though many English majors are told that their major is useless, English is actually one of the most important subjects. You'll need to know how to read, write, and argue (most English majors have to write numerous essays.) As an English major, you can gain those skills!

Imagine your teacher, mom, dad, etc. , handing you a book about something you want to do so badly, like engineering. Reading is likely most important because you need to be able to read to learn all of this about engineering. Also, say you just graduated from highschool with a 4.0 or higher, and you want to get into a good college. You need to have good writing skills to write to the college. Now think about what the most important subject is. English

It's an important language to communicate with social. - Chayawat

It's not just the language but how you analysis situations in everything. When you find out: you are dying, not getting that doll you wanted, you got the job, you were 2nd to your bestfriend that is always better than you, you are pregnant, your wife broke her hip - everything. English is important too. Every job requires English/language whereas math isn't that's numeracy

Maybe it used to be important, but in my school it is the most useless class I have ever taken. All you do is write random crap without spending any time learning about grammar or structure. Just papers and more papers.

How is this not number one? Without English, you'll barely be able to understand math! You frequently use English, but you only occasionally use math! English is way harder than math, which makes it way better!

English is important because without English we wouldn't be able to write a single word, in fact we wouldn't be able to recite or write a letter from the alphabet which is what kindergarten children do.

We should study English more often because I believe that in this time and age English language is more relevant, this is a Universal language, we understand each other using English language.

You speak everyday, don't you? You argue at least five times a week, right? You read letters put together to establish words, do you not? Basically

We NEED to learn proper grammar and use it nearly everyday. We would get nowhere in life without this subject. Math and English should swap places on this list.

Without English you won't write proper sentences. (or type for all you internet and phone users) Also you will not be able to communicate on such high levels with other people your age.

Why does everyone think English is important? It is nothing compared to math and science! English helps you understand other people, but physics helps you understand the universe!

It's not only for people who want to be authors and Journalists that's the only reason why we know anything if you can't pronounce the words out of your mouth you can't teach me a thing.

Think about it, we have books in every subject. How are you going to understand the other books without knowing English? - ethanmeinster

English is the most important, because it's needed to learn the other subjects. If you cannot read, how are you going to understand your science book or your math book?

You can't learn anything without English, can you. I actually like maths better, but I remind myself, I couldn't do this without English
