Top 10 Most Instantly Recognizable Song Intros
It's a simple fact of live, if you make lists where people can vote; they will vote what they like. For instance the list of best albums of all time; clearly Sgt Peppers and Exile On Main Street are up there with Blond On Blond, but you find they are not on top of that list. other people do think other albums are better ad that fine, they are maybe to young to know about the Beatles, The Stones or Dylan. I recently met a young guy who never heard of Elvis. Come one...I mean what. That people vote for Rod Stewart means only one thing; he's well known and he still has a large fanbase, nothing wrong with that. I personally like Nirvana but I do not see them in many lists, not even in the top 10 of this one, and tell me Smells everybody knows from note one. But I can live with that...
SoldierOfFortune I agree, Stairway to Heaven; that nice river of acoustic guitars intro is magic but to say you never heard this song is just popycock. The intro to Hot Legs is more melodic than any other "Rock" song intro, it is maybe to hard for most ears but have a good listening to it. And Bohemian Rhapsody? Come on that cliché of a song, nicely put together but so to the taste of mediocrecy...
What? I've never even heard of this song, and it's above classics like Stairway to Heaven, Smoke on the Water, and Bohemian Rhapsody?
Only #1 because of the Rod Stewart spam voter. I have never heard this song, so of course I wouldn't recognize the intro.
This is a clear number one I would think even people who don't know the song would still recognize the opening riff.
I'm just commenting to help get this above Rod Stewart.
Voting this to keep the obviously spam-voted Rod Stewart song from the #1 spot
What's funny is that people don't even know the lyrics that well. Just the iconic intro
You can hear the clapping making it an instant hit.
I know it from the first sound.
A sports anthem... Classic one.
I can dream the intro!
Back In Black is iconic
I'm surprised this iconic song isn't #1
Almost everyone knows this song and intro
I love this soft intro.
Should be in the top 20
