The most interesting of the former Yugoslavian states is Croatia in my opinion. It has such an exotic and slavic culture and it's gorgeous! The capital Zagreb is really cool, however, my main love goes to the gorgeous city of Dubrovnik at the coast, it's such a beautiful and nice city. The coast is so beautiful here! President is Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović and official language is croatian. Such a beautiful and interesting country

2 Hungary Hungary is a sovereign state in Europe. It is situated in the Carpathian Basin and is bordered by Slovakia to the north, Romania to the east, Serbia to the south, Croatia to the southwest, Slovenia to the west, Austria to the northwest, and Ukraine to the northeast.

In my suprising and unpopular opinion (or for short IMSaUO), Hungary easly tops the list. Because of many reasons. It's one of the flattest countries in Europe and it has such a big history. It actually used to be one of the biggest countries in Europe and used to be a kingdom, and Austria used to be part of it. I wish it was more known. Compared to Italy this gets no attention, the reason I just compared Italy to Hungary is because their flags are almost the same except Italy's flag is verticval and Hungary's flag isn't. I prefer the hungarian flag. This country also has such an interesting culture! They share the same favourite vegetable as mine: paprika / pepper and they love to use it. I love Hungary!

Good country for foreigners, but don't consider living here. This country may be everyone's favorite on this list, but sadly it's a country that's being ruined by the political elite, who are literally forming a new kind of dictatorship.
ps.: I'm from HU

Budapest is a great city.

5 Austria Austria was Celtic (Hallstadt) then as Noricum, part of the Roman Empire, Alaric, who took over Rome, studied at a monastery near Vienna. In the Middle Ages, the Holy Roman Emperors moved to Vienna, then Austria became separate. After the first World War, Austria became a small country, under 10 million population, but including the world's then 4th largest city. 'A big head on a small body' they said.
