Top Ten Most Interesting Countries

The Top Ten
1 Iceland Iceland is a Nordic island country in the North Atlantic Ocean and the most sparsely populated country in Europe. Iceland's capital and largest city is Reykjavík, which (along with its surrounding areas) is home to over 65% of the population. Iceland is the only part of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge that rises above sea level, and its central volcanic plateau is erupting almost constantly. The interior consists of a plateau characterised by sand and lava fields, mountains, and glaciers, and many glacial rivers flow to the sea through the lowlands. Iceland is warmed by the Gulf Stream and has a temperate climate, despite a high latitude just outside the Arctic Circle. Its high latitude and marine influence ...read more.

It's actually is quite green despite the name, and it is the only nordic country with volcanoes. Icelandish is also the language most similar to the language the vikings used. This is mainly due to the fact that the people of Iceland are descendants of the norwegian people during the viking ages. Flag is a but similar to Norway's but it's cool still. Very interesting! The fact that it's the only nordic country with volcanoes speak for itself and the fact that it's still one of the safest countries in the world as whole speaks of fascination.

2 New Zealand

Not only one of the safest countries on earth, but their culture, and history is the most interesting in all of Polynesia, let alone Oceania. It's just amazing. You see, the one thing that really makes New Zealand such an interesting place, is without a doubt the maori people. It's a polynesian ethnic people group who are the indigenous people of New Zealand, who found the islands around year 1300 making it one of the most recent countries where people have first set foot on, they are very known for their tatoos, as they are known to have tatoos on their whole body, yeah you know those, very cool. So interesting. Just this has to be first on the list. The maori people are kinda what inspired the character "Maui" in the disney movie Moana from 2016, I mean even his name is the same without an "R" in it. So yeah this is top ten worthy.

3 Niue
4 Norway Norway, officially the Kingdom of Norway, is a sovereign and unitary monarchy in Northern Europe whose territory comprises the western portion of the Scandinavian Peninsula plus the island Jan Mayen and the archipelago of Svalbard. Oslo is the capital of Norway. Norwegian is the official language of Norway.

Norway is the only country I've been travelling to outside of the baltic states and thanks to this I know a lot about this country so this will be a bit easier for me. The most mountainous country of the nordic countries, and has lots of awesome towns such as Gol, Hemsedal, Lärdal and Flåm. Their history has a lot of viking history, and you know how much I think vikings are interesting, no? Ok. Anyway, it's a very awesome country for me

5 Vanuatu

The most dangerous country in the world when it comes to natural disasters, and there's tons of volcanoes there as well, as well as forests. Three biggest islands are Espiritu Santo, Malekula and Efates. There's more islands as well, one of the other ones being Ambrym. Capital is Port-Vila and is located on the third biggest island: Efates, president is Tallis Obed Moses and currency is Vatu. Such an interesting country, it was also the first country in Oceania that I actaully did study and try to learn a bit about, there's just tons of interesting things about Vanuatu! It's also located in the most interesting part of Oceania: Melanesia!

6 Russia Russia, or the Russian Federation (RF), is a transcontinental country spanning Eastern Europe and Northern Asia. It is the largest country in the world by area, covering over 17,125,191 square kilometres (6,612,073 sq mi), and encompassing one-eighth of Earth's inhabitable landmass. Russia extends across eleven time zones and borders sixteen sovereign nations, the most of any country in the world. It is the ninth-most populous country and the most populous country in Europe, with a population of 145.5 million. The country's capital and largest city is Moscow, the largest city entirely within Europe. Saint Petersburg is Russia's cultural centre and second-largest city. Other major urban areas ...read more.

Russia is mostly only the european part, you know the culture of russia we are familiar. If you're talking about the whole country, it's the russian federation. And this is the biggest country in the world. Because it is so, the culture and history varies so much from region to region. I mean moskva is totally different from say vladivostok. There's siberia, the caucasian areas, the famous european parts, and the eastern forests, etc. It's massive. It simply could not be lower than this.

7 Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan is definitely quite a cool country. Along with Armenia and Georgia, it's one of the few countries that is technically located in Asia, but some people classify it as a european country. It's surely an interesting country. Azerbaijan has a strong rivalry with its neighbour Armenia and it shows. Both sides have attacked each others and have exclaves in both countries and they fight a lot over it. In armenia there is a part of this country called the nakhchivan republic. There's a bit of controversy there as Armenia claims that is should belong to them and that it's an armenian place but Azerbaijan claims it's their land. One of the most interesting parts about the country has got to be the gobustan region though, in which you can literally find mud volcanoes. About half of all the world's mud volcanoes can be found here and it's so fascinating!

9 Italy

A lot of people stereotype this country with pizza and pasta, and mario to an extent. But it's much more than that. This country has huge history! Rome is such a interesting and beautiful capital city and the flag is great too. Northern Italy has those gorgeous mountains of the Alps which I love, and the southern has many plains, and the capital Rome. Also, this country invented pizza and pasta, two excellent foods!

11 France

I really have to admit it that France has a very strong and interesting culture and history. Paris a one beautiful capital with the eiffel tower and it's one to the best laungage in the world: french, and it has a big history as well, the french revolution is quite interesting and one of the most interesting aspects of the late 1700s as it's quite big and complex.

12 Armenia Armenia is a country in the South Caucasus region of Eurasia. Located in Western Asia on the Armenian Highlands, it is bordered by Turkey to the west, Georgia to the north, the de facto independent Republic of Artsakh and Azerbaijan to the east, and Iran and Azerbaijan's exclave of Nakhchivan to the south.

The neighbour and big rival of Azerbaijan, Armenia. Remember how I talked about the nakchivan enclave that was located in Armenia but is officially a region of that country? Well in Azerbaijan there is the nagorno region, that actually isn't part of Armenia though, as Azerbaijan has control over it. Man there's surely a lot of controversy around these two countries. I think one of the most interesting aspects about Armenia has got to be its language. It's quite a unique one, and it's one of the only three languages in Europe that doesn't use the cyrillic or latin-based script. It's instead completely different, and uses the armenian alphabet and there's even a monument in Armenia about the letters. It's quite interesting

Of Africa this is the number #1 most interesting country. As one of the oldest countries in the arab world, let alone the entire world with its extremely iconic and interesting history with the nile, deserts and pyraminds, Egypt tops the list easly. It's like the hub of the arab world and the most famous one as well, and it surely is the most interesting. It's pretty much impossible to not have heard anything about Egypt, as its history is massive and has been used for numerous movies.

The country with the most interesting history in my opinion. It’s just amazing.

Most known movies and songs are created in the US, most celebrities are from the US and most toptenners on here, are american. It's huge. I could go on and on about how big it is, and how interesting it is as well. Originally inhabited by native americans, such as the navajo and lakota, the United States later became a colony of the United Kingdom, and they were the very first country in the world to gain independence from their motherland actually. Fun fact, so Ukraine's and Sweden's flags are super similar to each other, I mean the colours are exactly the same, funny enough, they have relatively the same size, biggest difference is that Sweden is known as one of the safest european countries and Ukraine the opposite. Anyways, Ukraine is a slavic country located in eastern Europe with loads of interesting cultures and ethnic groups. Their history, is very cool and interesting and I love their slavic culture. Ukraine takes a spot here definitely

Most people in Peru speak Spanish, but some people here also speak Quecha and Aymara.

Peru has in my opinion, among the most interesting history and cultures in the world. It's just overall one of the most interesting countries in the world even in my opinion, and it's for a lot of reasons. You see, it was from Peru is where the so interesting mountain people known as the Inca came from who are so interesting. Machu Pichu is such a gorgeous and interesting place. I mean the inca people are one of the main reasons Peru really takes the top spot on this list. But that's just the mountain parts. The further east you go, you come to the jungles and they have a lot of interesting stuff going on as well. I mean it's amazing. Peru should be at the top in my opinion.
