Top Ten Interesting Facts About Chrono Trigger

The Top Ten
1 The three bosses before Magus are all named after rock stars. Ozzie is named after Ozzy Osbourne, Slash is named after Guns n' Roses guitarist, and Flea is named after RHCP's bassist.
2 You can fight Lavos at any time.

Even at the very beginning of the game, when you get to Lucca's teleporter, enter the right one to immediately fight Lavos. This will be extremely hard, and only Marle and Crono are the party members, so it's really only winnable on a New Game Plus. Fighting Lavos at any time and winning gets multiple endings.

3 The game's characters resemble those from the Dragon Ball series.

Mainly because Akira Toriyama had a hand in the creation of Chrono Trigger. I mean, compare Crono's hair to Goku's.

4 The Black Omen is optional.

As I said earlier, you can fight Lavos anytime, even before the Black Omen is revealed in the game.

5 Frog is Glenn

Pretty much known by the fans.

6 You can save Lucca's mother in a flashback.

She didn't have legs in the beginning, but an optional sidequest allows you to save her from her legs being chopped by a machine.

7 There is an item in the game called C. Trigger.

Stands for what else? It's actually a very important item for the game.

8 In one of the rarest endings of the game, Crono actually speaks!
9 You can enter the Black Omen up to three times.

Go there in 1000 AD, then 600 AD, then 12000 AD. This allows for extra experience, and you fight Zeal at the end each time.

10 There is a Glitch that lets you unequip the party
The Contenders
11 The weak spot of Lavos Core is actually the small pod on the right
12 Robo's theme song is very similar to Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up".

I just found this today. I think it's cool too!

Both good songs

13 Slash has actually more HP than Magus if you combine his two phases

First fight: 3200 HP, then second after that is 5200, which totals as 8400 HP when compared to Magus's 6666 HP. Interestingly enough, Super Slash (in a sidequest) has 2500 HP in the first phase, then when fighting him with Flea Plus and Great Ozzie, he has 4000 HP. Combined, those are actually LOWER, totalling at 6500 HP. Mind, blown.

14 Your actions at the Millennial Fair affect the outcome of the trial
15 The first Golem boss is not only winnable, but exploitable

I dunno why I never added this yet. The first Golem boss is supposed to be one you lose, but with an exploit, it's actually one of the easiest bosses in the entire game to actually win. You just gotta hit it with a magic spell, then it copies that ability, then hit it with a magic spell, then it copies that ability, and so on and so forth. No physical attacks. A very easy boss, and it's probably worth noting that the Golem Twins later on MUST be beat, so really it is good practice to just wail on the first Golem with magic knowing that it never gets a chance to attack if you keep at the thing.

16 When you fight Magus, he has a total of 6666 HP
17 You can run away from the 2nd Lavos Spawn on Death Peak

You mean Lavos Spawn?

18 The game's anti-piracy let's you loop through the time travel animation whenever you enter a gate, this was reused in the DS version
19 It's easily Square Enix's most overrated non-Final-Fantasy game of all time
20 You can do the drinking minigame at the millennial fair only with Ayla or Crono as the party leader
21 Doing the unequip glitch gives you more magic attack and resistance against lightning, water, and shadow magic.
