They have also been voted higher on the best music artists of all time list so even on the top tens people tend to forget how mediocre this band is.

Linkin Park: 60 million
Judas Priest: 45 million
Rush: 40 million

I felt like crying when I saw those results.

2 Metallica have sold more than twice as many albums as the rest of the big four of thrash metal

I think this item was supposed to be have sold more than twice as many albums as any other member of the big 4. Which is not surprising same with the item about Linkin Park.

Metallica: 110 million
Megadeth: 50 million
Slayer: 15-35 million
Anthrax: 15-20 million

3 The Beatles are the highest selling band with 600 million records sold, Led Zeppelin are the second best selling band with 300 million records sold.

This number is actually low; counting sales of 45 RPM singles, plus downloads, the Beatles are at around 1 billion total.
Elvis is not too far behind, but nobody else is close, with the debate about third place being between MJ, Zep, Elton John, and a few others.

That's twice as much. Both awesome bands though.

I know that Opeth are hideously underrated, but even I was surprised to see those results.
