Top 10 Most Irrelevant NFL Teams of the 2000s and 2010s
In the NFL you have the championship contender teams like the Patriots, Packers and Steelers and you have the teams that are garbage competing for the first overall pick. Like the Browns. Then you have the teams in the middle of the pack that aren’t good enough to win and not bad enough to lose. These are the mediocre and irrelevant teams. Let’s discuss those teams. Just on a side note I put these teams based on what they have accomplished in the past few years.

The Detroit Lions are one of the four teams to have never been to a Super Bowl, and also one of the two teams in history to go 0-16. One year defined the Lions 2000s decade. 2008 and 0-16 and it was the talk of all Detroit. Just before thankfully they got Matthew Stafford.

This team hasn’t really accomplished anything in the past few years aside from losing in the wild card game a few times. The last time they were relevant was the early 90s where they made the NFC championship.

The New York Jets are a professional American football team located in the New York metropolitan area. Do I really need to explain? This team has been terrible since 2011. Yes they did go 10-6 in 2015 and still didn’t make the playoffs. This team has been spinning the tires of the tank ever since
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are a professional American football franchise based in Tampa, Florida. The Buccaneers currently compete in the National Football League as a member team of the National Football Conference South division. The Bucs haven’t hardly gone anywhere since their super Bowl win in 2002. They have only had 2 wild card losses since. They did get Jameis Winston but this team is too inconsistent at the moment to go anywhere
The Indianapolis Colts are an American football team based in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Colts compete in the National Football League as a member club of the American Football Conference South division. Man ever since they were the victims of deflategate this team has fallen apart. They haven’t won more than 8 games since 2014 and Andrew Luck has had a few injury issues as of recent. And outside of him the Colts really don’t have much. With the Texans recovering from last years disappointment, and The Titans and Jaguars being on the rise Indianapolis might fall back to irrelevance for awhile
The Chicago Bears are a professional American football team in Chicago, Illinois. The Bears compete in the National Football League as a member club of the league's National Football Conference North division. The bears have been pretty terrible in the 2000s outside of a few playoff runs in 2006 and 2010. They’ve been pretty irrelevant since 2011
The Washington Commanders are a professional American football team based in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
In 2020, Washington after 87 years got rid of the Redskins trademark due to it being labeled racist to native culture. It was named the Washington Football Team until February 2022, when the team was renamed the Washington Commanders. Since 2005 the Redskins have really been mediocre and have only 3 playoff appearances and lost in the wild card game all 3 times. This is another team that doesn’t look to be going anywhere anytime soon
The Las Vegas Raiders are a professional American football franchise based in Las Vegas. The Raiders began playing in 1960 as a member club of the American Football League; they have been a member club of the National Football League since the 1970 AFL–NFL merger.
In 2020, the Raiders relocated from Oakland, California to Las Vegas. They were relevant in the early 2000s but since 2003 they have fallen to irrelevance.They did have a wild card loss in 2016.
The Los Angeles Chargers are a professional American football team based in Los Angeles. The Chargers compete in the National Football League as a member club of the league's American Football Conference West division. They haven’t won the division since 2009 and have just 1 playoff appearance since. The Chargers have been very mediocre over the past few seasons.

Buffalo Bills had the longest playoff drought of any team which came to an end in 2017. They went through 17 years away from the playoffs, and ended up losing in the wild card in 2017. They’ve been awful.
