She is clearly dismissive of (simple-minded and buffoonish) Fergus, but got married to him because she can have (De-facto) power and control which shows that marriage was a Machiavellian game for her (unlike for Merida). Not much different from Rose's mother in Titanic. Loves to throw her weight around-hilariously, this took a more literal nature after turning into a bear.
