In fact, back in the day, a lot of us thought this was the Experience doing the studio, as Clem Cattini's drumming sounded so much like Mitch Mitchell, even though the lead sounded only vaguely like Jimi. Lead was indeed Alan Parker, confirmed both by Cattini, and John Paul Jones, who played bass on the track. Interestingly, Donovan originally wanted this recorded by the Hendrix Experience.
