Top 10 Jon Oliva Music Skills
He is best known as the founder and lead vocalist for Savatage. But since 1996 he has also been a music composer, musician and vocalist in Trans-Siberian Orchestra (aka TSO). Trans-Siberian Orchestra started as a Savatage side project and actually Jon Oliva was one of the 4 people who formed the core of the TSO creative team. Al Pitrelli, another Savatage member, was also one of those 4 people. So half of the original TSO came from Savatage.
Trans-Siberian Orchestra became a popular, huge and critically acclaimed act. On New Year's Eve 2013-14 they performed in front of over 1,000,000 fans at Berlin's Brandenburg Gate.

Thanks to him Savatage has one of the best and most meaningful lyrics in metal.
Although originally the guitar player of the brothers, Jon quickly realized that his brother Criss' talent was superior to his and stuck to singing and swapped with his brother, and played bass.
But Jon is still able to play guitars quite good.
On the Handful of Rain album (1994) Jon Oliva played rhythm and lead guitar, bass guitar, piano, keyboards, drums, backing vocals.
