The Top Ten
1 Babymetal Babymetal is a Japanese metal idol band. Their line-up consists of Suzuka Nakamoto as "Su-metal", Yui Mizuno as "Yuimetal", and Moa Kikuchi as "Moametal".

The only Japanese band that reached worldwide mainstream music, at least for the genre, and still nowhere near their peak. Highest respect.

2 Kim Hyun-joong Kim Hyun-Joong is a South Korean entertainer, actor, singer, dancer, and the leader and main rapper of boyband SS501.
3 Perfume

I have been listening to Perfume since 2013, and they really don't get as much recognition as they should. Their performances are creative, and they make me smile every time I listen to them sing. If you know someone who is interested in electropop, techno, J-Pop, or pop in general, let them know about Perfume.

It might be strange to them at first because they don't understand, but it's worth listening to.

I think Perfume has it all in J-Pop: music, voice, dance, music videos, and live performances are amazing! And not to forget, looks are important in the J-Pop industry, but I rather the music and live performances.

4 UVERworld
5 Nightmare
6 L'Arc-en-Ciel L'Arc-en-Ciel is a Japanese rock band, founded in Osaka in 1991. With a reported 40 million records sold, they were the first Japanese act to headline at Madison Square Garden.
7 Ceui

I was introduced to J-Pop, and Ceui was among the first artists I listened to. I continue to explore more songs, but Ceui remains one of my favorites and comes in my top 3 list. Even now, I listen to her great songs, and they just calm me down if I am in an angry mood. Two great calming songs are God Bless and Energy.

Her songs are great, calming, and soothing. Some can even make you cry because of the words and flow. Highly recommended! In the future, please continue to look for more great songs by one of my favorites, Ceui.

8 Dream

I love Dream when they were just three members. They were the first Japanese girl group that I knew, bringing back so many memories, especially in anime like InuYasha and Hikaru no Go with their great high pitch vocal. I actually prefer Dream to Ayumi Hamasaki in Avex Trax.

9 T.M. Revolution
10 Arashi

Arashi are probably one of the most successful Japanese boy bands of all time.

I like their music, and all the members are adorable. I especially love Jun and Sho.

The Contenders
11 Misia
12 Maaya Sakamoto
13 ClariS

Her songs actually have a story to them, instead of just random words shoved in there for no reason.

14 Ikimono-gakari

Very good band! Daisy X Daisy is my favorite, but they aren't on the list.

15 M.O.V.E.
16 Flow
17 Porno Graffitti

Their songs are so catchy, like Melissa, for example, was a masterpiece.

18 Do As Infinity
19 Nico Touches the Walls

It was for this band I would have never gotten through some of the hardest moments of my life.

20 Kyary Pamyu Pamyu Kiriko Takemura, better known as Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, is a Japanese fashion model and singer. She is best known for her songs: PONPONPON, Ninja Re Bang Bang, and Kira Kira Killer.

You can't have a best of J-Pop without Kyary.
