Most Iconic Landmarks in Wagga Wagga

The Top Ten
1 Edward and Tarcutta Street railway bridges

Wagga is a railway town, and nothing is better suited to being next to the welcome sign than these two bright yellow train bridges.

2 Wagga Beach

It was once rated Australia's ninth best beach, and it's on a river!

3 Dough Re Mi

Go to Fitzmaurice Street and look for the life-sized pink unicorn. His name's Henry, by the way. When you get there, you can get fun shaped cookies that taste great.

4 Willans Hill Miniature Railway

The Wikipedia article for model engineering literally has a photo from this railway.

5 Wagga Wagga Botanic Gardens

Home to the Willans Hill Miniature Railway, two playgrounds, a zoo, a camelia garden with a Chinese pavilion, a Shakespearean Garden and so much more.

6 Wagga Wagga Railway Station

It's heritage-listed and has a museum.

7 Hampden Bridge

I really wish it didn't have to come down. It was iconic.

8 Wagga Wagga Marketplace

This mall might only have one storey, but it is the largest in the catchment area.

9 Scribbles Cafe

Another childhood favourite of mine that just closed in 2021. Nothing beat paper tablecloths that you could draw on.

10 Museum of the Riverina Historic Council Chambers

The council have since relocated to the adjacent Civic Centre, but this place is still proudly kept in use as a museum.

The Contenders
11 Victory Memorial Gardens

I'm anti-war, but I've got too many fond memories of coming here as a child and feeding the ducks to not like this place.

12 Henry’s Tunnel

An iconic tunnel on the Willans Hill Miniature Railway with some great art.
