Top 10 Least Iconic Characters that Were Made Playable in Super Smash Bros.
No offense, Nintendo, but this right here really is an EXTREMELY niche franchise for you to be making so many of the characters from into Smash Bros playables (also, can anyone say "too many swordfighters")
Just another FE character, and one of the more forgettable ones, in my opinion.
The fact that they came from one of the NES's weakest first-party games doesn't help
Literally no one knew who they were until Super Smash Bros Melee.
Completely useless NES peripheral that looked cool but did nothing else
Great character, sure, but she's only appeared in two main-series games outside of Smash Bros, and said main-series games weren't exactly earth-shatteringly revolutionary classics like Super Metroid and the Mario World duology either
I didn't even know who she was until she came out in Smash
Apart from the fact that she became one of the official Super Smash Bros sex symbols, there is absolutely nothing remarkable about her in the slightest
Nothing iconic about this character.
Wow! So cold but so sexy girl.
Technically a Gamecube mascot of sorts, but one that was easily FAR outclassed by Leon Kennedy (Resident Evil 4), Hyper-Realistic-Looking Samus (Metroid Prime), Paper Mario (The Thousand-Year Door), Wario (Wario Ware and Wario World), FLUDD (Super Mario Sunshine), Captain Falcon (F-Zero GX and Smash Bros Melee), Link (Ocarina Of Time, Wind Waker and Twilight Princess), and probably even Vacuum Luigi (Luigi's Mansion) in terms of popularity
(not to imply that his games weren't good, but by Nintendo standards and especially Super Smash Bros roster inclusion standards, they weren't exactly the most widely known of things, to say the least)
1) He is literally just a silhouette of a Diary Of A Wimpy Kid stick figure
2) Barely anyone even remembers the console that his moves came from
3) The console that his moves came from isn't even worth remembering anyway
Kid Icarus Uprising made the regular Pit decently iconic, I suppose,
but absolutely no one, generally speaking, cared about Dark Pit back in his debut appearance, and I sincerely doubt that their attitude toward his Smash appearance was any different
Nothing more then a pallet swap with few minor changes.
This was a huge surprise.
I wouldn't be surprised if NOBODY knew of this series before the Smash announcement: I certainly didn't, and something has to be REALLY obscure for me not to know about it.
At this point, Nintendo might as well just add Dangan Ronpa characters
I don't know why this isn't at number 1. Sure, Ice Climbers may not have been super well known, but they were still from a classic nes game liked by some of the less casual Nintendo fans. Before Brawl, there was only two Kid Icarus games that nobody really cared for or knew about.
We already had Pickachu why add another look a like who actually damages itself every time it attacks.
He is unnecessary since Pikachu is in Smash and he is way more iconic.
Granted, he comes from an absolute Internet meme phenomenon that is undeniably THE most immensely iconic and critically acclaimed Nintendo-Lite game to ever come out of the indie scene (and also genuinely by far one of the best as far as its Pacifist Run is concerned, whether or not you happen to personally agree)...
but seriously, give me a break; his game (although shockingly good indeed) is a massively overhyped and predictable T.V.-trope-fest (that he isn't even the actual main character of) that is only about four to five years old at the moment (barely even older than Persona 5, which is also a borderline visual novel game) and is almost more infamous than it is actually famous (mainly due to its obnoxiously arrogant fanbase, as always), and the character himself barely even has any material for a non-stupidly-overpowered moveset whatsoever (which is part of the reason why he's actually just a Mii Gunner costume, along with him naturally being too lazy to actually make a ...more
