Least Physically Taxing Musical Instruments
Different musical instruments put different degrees and types of physical demands on their respective players. It would be very interesting to find out from a broad community of instrumentalists and music lovers which instrument is the least physically taxing to play.Playing the piano requires very little physical effort, except during the most demanding and intense passages. You can get a nice sound with zero effort and playing loud is a breeze.
Playing the violin requires relatively little physical effort when compared to other instruments. The physically awkward part is the posture, which is rather unnatural. The violin is not overly heavy, which helps. The left arm is also in a relatively twisted position. This aside, pressing the strings requires little effort as they are very close to the fingerboard and soft to the touch, and playing loud does not require a ton of bow pressure.
Not only is it not taxing to play, it's also not taxing to lug around. That means a lot when you start playing music with other people.
