Kashmir has an unbelievable hypnotic feel to it. Put it on loop 12 times first time I heard it. Easily has the most powerful riff in the world. The drums are unbelievable. The switches in tone are beautiful and the way Bonham leads us out of the switch with some beautiful drumming is unbelievable. Especially the "All I see turns to brown"part... the music is unbelievable with the violin chipping in. It is a masterpiece but it is placed rightly at second as Stairway To Heaven is God...

This is one of those songs you either know or don't. So for those who do you will know where I am going on this thread. This has to be up there as one of those great songs that once you have discovered makes you sit up and think yes. It is a song that will make you think, I am hooked on it and as you can tell love it ha. I wish I could have gone to a concert and felt it with the masses but for now I have you tube x

Despite being 8-and-a-half-minutes long, this Physical Graffiti track found radio airplay and much critical praise. Inspired by Eastern music, Led Zeppelin skillfully blended hard rock, art rock, progressive rock and symphonic rock to create one of the songs they're most proud of. With its famous chord progression and musical contributions from session players, "Kashmir" wasn't only a live staple but also a band favorite.

Ahh, a Led Zeppelin song that isn't overplayed. This song is a treat. Stairway to Heaven is an amazing song, don't get me wrong, but it just isn't Led Zeppelin. Kashmir sums up everything great about Led Zeppelin. Hard guitar and drums by Page and Bonham, incredible instrumentals by John Paul Jones, and Page's mystical vocals. Not to mention the use of many instruments by outside musicians. This song IS Led Zeppelin.

By far the best song. Its way better than Stairway to Heaven I feel. No offense Stairway to Heaven is a very nice piece as well but Kashmir just stole it all. Especially their Celebration day version. No one can play it like that again, nothing could be better than that. Its just top notch. Kashmir..Sure as the dust that floats high in June..When movin' through Kashmir..!

Stairway? Overrated. Kashmir? One of the greatest songs, drum songs, guitar songs, orchestral songs, and productions of all time. Chord progression is the key to riffing. Mellotron is great to. This isn't only my favorite, but the actual bands favorite. This then Immigrant Song. He just wanted to reach the western shore. To bad everything turned brown in his way through the desert.

Although Stairway to Heaven is a one of the greatest poetic masterpieces in music, it does not fully emulate who Led Zeppelin is. When I first heard Stairway to Heaven it took me awhile to fully appreciate it. When I heard Kashmir, I felt the spirit of the 70s and heard the greatest rock band of all time.

You hear stairway so offen that it starts to become a little old, but Kashmir is not nearly enough appreciated and far more brilliant (also zeppelin's favourite song). Kashmir makes you feel like a God, it's like a song dedicated to God. You get this powerful feeling when you hear it, especially the chorus. I am literally transported to another world when the amazing guitar riff starts at the beginning of the song. I am not saying stairway is bad but just not nearly as good as Kashmir.

This song is amazing! It's so intense when the guitar and drums match only after 12 beats, and though the same music is repeated it still intensifies from the inside and bursts out at the last two minutes of the song. These minutes themselves make such a dramatic conclusion, it's impossible not to follow it with your body.

This song is absolutely perfect in every way. There is not a thing that I would change about this song. With this piece Led Zeppelin did not only transcend rock music but music itself. This song reaches places that others have only dreamed about. This is far and away the best song ever.

Dazed and Confused is pretty damn close to this song. But believe that there is not one song song from another band that even sounds close to this. I think that Hangar 18 by Megadeth might have "stolen" the main riff in this song, but otherwise... No.

Stairway to Heaven is a great song, don't get me wrong, but Kashmir takes the cake for me. From the great guitar riffs, to the lyrics, to the Vocals, to the solos. Its just an amazing song, and deserves to be placed at number 1, for the top 10 Led Zeppelin songs!

This song is a true masterpiece, if you don't listen to too much mainstream poo music, you can feel the power in the song.

This is a piece you can't expect from any rock band to come up with. I was literally flabbergasted when I first listened to it, overwhelmed of that mighty sound. A hell of 1000 new dimensions, but indeed Led Zeppelin did go this far. Beyond belief.

Damn good lyrics, and so the instruments! It creates that environment while listening that I feel like let me be there. Stairway to heaven is good, but somehow I like this one even more. Every time I listen to it, I feel even more...

Even Led Zeppelin thinks Kashmir is their greatest achievement. The amazing melody is even more amazing when John Paul Jones plays the tail end of the song with a Middle Eastern flair and it works!

This is the pinnacle of music... That is right music. The entirety of music is topped with this song. There is Kashmir at the top of the list and then steps below it is Beethoven's fifth symphony.

One of my favorite Led Zeppelin songs. I really love the hypnotic riffs on it. It's a melodic song, you must watch the video (LIVE), you'll see how he feels the melody moving from right to left while he play guitar.

This song is the song that gets me going. Stairway to Heaven, Black Dog, Whole Lotta Love, and Dazed and Confused are good, but Kashmir just takes the cake for best Led Zeppelin song.

Pure quality, I've been learning the drums to this for 3 months now, I'm hoping to get it nailed in the next 10 years or so;) JB was a master and this song shows it! (much prefer to listen to live versions to be honest)

Perhaps the greatest two riffs of all time, accompanied by Bonzo's brilliant drumming. Hard to choose a best Zeppelin song but in terms of both greatness, impact and popularity, this one wins.

This was the highlight of all their concerts since before Physical Graffiti came out. The pounding beat sucks you in. Go see Celebration Day in theatres if you get the chance. Great show.

This is the best Zeppelin song by far. This is What led Zeppelin is and What it sounds like. This is perfection.

So many of Zeppelins songs use very creative musical ideas and this is particularly outstanding, with a perfect lyric to compliment, so evocative of somewhere so mystic and rare.

Stairway to Heaven is overrated. Kashmir sounds the same throughout the whole song, but that's what what makes it awesome.
