Many of the big name stars throughout history have sung at historic events. Jackie has a reputation of being a 'go to' singer for not only political events but sports and tribute events. Why would any singer turn this down? So what if it happens to get her more recognition. She's young and hasn't gotten any recognition form the music industry yet. All performers want to get noticed for their talent, that's why they do it. All these other singers use those awards ceremonies to further their careers. I don't see anyone calling them opportunists.
Singing for Obama, singing for Trump, singing for the UN... sounds like an opportunist. She should stay out of political events if she want to be taken serious. And singing the national anthem ( outside the United States nobody cares about the " national " anthem of the USA! ) doesn't justify her acts. Trump is not a " peaceful power " and not everybody want to " celebrate " him!
Exactly! She is celebrating the peaceful transition of power that has been our nation's tradition for over 200 years, a very non-partisan action. She also happens to have the best singing voice in the world right now, which is why she sang for Obama personally [twice], for the Pope, for the U.N., and at a variety of "national" Washington DC concerts for 4th of July and Memorial Day, which were organized by the Obama Administration.
