Linkin Park Songs With the Best Meaning

As we know, Linkin Park's songs have very deep meanings, but these are the ones with the deepest, most meaningful meanings.
The Top Ten
1 Breaking the Habit

It really isn't about moving on (at least not in a positive way). "I don't know how I got this way, I'll never be alright, so I'm breaking the habits." This song is about not having a way out besides suicide...

It's about suicide, and it reminds Chester about his past of sexual abuse and drug addiction.

This is a beautiful song about many things/ the most prominent of which are suicide and addiction.

Reminds Chester of what he used to do and he's left them all aside and decides to move on

2 From the Inside

I think it's about letting out everything that haunted you, everything that bothered you, getting rid of every lie, everything that you had to take and moving on...

It's about taking lies and disceit from inside yourself and getting rid of it.

3 Castle of Glass

So inspiring...

4 Numb

should be number 1 by far, not just parents expectations, thats only a small fraction of what this songs meaning although very much apart of it. take every lyric one by one and it could be anything from the pressure from a boy/girlfriend to being used

"I am tired of being what you want me to be". That says it all. There comes a point of time in our lives when we realize that we are just not being what we are and merely being what others want us to be. Opens your eyes really. LP 4evr!

This songs is abt bullying, being ignored, being left behind feeling so numb and empty and alone. Describes self-hatred too. Actually like a Borderliner feels...

Greatest song this band made. The emotional depth is astounding

5 Leave Out All the Rest

"Don't be afraid
I've taken my beating
I've shared what I've made
I'm strong on the surface
Not all the way through
I've never been perfect
But neither have you"

These lines very much sum up why this song has a huge impact on any average person...
Its about accepting the weaknesses and mistakes and asking people to forgive when You're gone..

It's about being remembered for the good things you did and not the bad.

6 In the End

It is about growing up and how child hood doesn't matter any more or how when you do drugs life and what you do with it seems to not matter anymore no matter what you do with it

It's saying that if you grow up different, you will want to go far away from your position, making you get carried aways with it. One day you see it's not worth it.

It's about realizing that no matter how hard you try something it doesn't matter.

It shows how you can’t waste your life on meaningless things or people, only on your life and the improvement of that

7 Crawling

This song is about when Chester used to be addicted to drugs to escape the pain and insecurities he felt after being sexually abused. "I've felt this way before, so insecure" (self explanatory- being abused has made him become insecure about himself) "crawling in my skin, these wounds they will not heal" the drugs make it seem as if something is crawling inside of him, and his emotional wounds from his childhood will not heal. "Fear is how I fall, confusing what is real" drugs helped him with his fears, and they caused him to hallucinate (so he literally confuses what is real)

You guys are idiots. I know every song meaning by lp
. This one is about when chester use to do drugs, an how it made him feel bad, "crawling in my skin, these wounds they will not heal.. " he is saying that the drugs made him feel like somthing was in his skin, an when he poked his skin to shoot up the druga, the holes wouldn't heal. Watch the video an do some research.

It's about insecurity and sexual abuse.

8 Somewhere I Belong

This song mean to me in a different way.. I suffer from severe social anxiety disorder and my thoghts exactly fit to the lyrics.. I think how much I want to be a normal person and be happy but because of my own fault I can't never feel the real happiness in my life.

This song reminds me of my past
It has a very close relation with my life. This definitely should be number 1.

It's about trying to fit in.

9 Waiting for the End

It's a great song about the power of life. And that it's never quite the end, it's only the beginning of something new. And though it may not be easy to get to that start, it's an amazing thing when you reach it.

For me this song will be always the number one... "All I want to do is trade this life for something new, holding onto what I haven't got"
This basically describes myself

It's about no matter how much the world and yourself changes, you can still find yourself.

"the hardest part of ending is starting again "do I have to say any more?

10 What I've Done

I think Breaking The Habit and Numb are the top of this list but this one should be at least #3 it's meaningful so I voted for it!

Reminding us of what we've done to the world of bad things, beautiful.

My top 4 favourite songs from Linking Park

The Contenders
11 Hands Held High

This song has a very deep meaning and a very good one about what war does not only, to soldiers but to the citizens of the country who's fighting the war.

I think this songs meaning is fairly obvious if you've heard it and should definitely be in the top 5

If you haven't year heard this song whilst reading the lyrics, y'all don't know how magical Linkin Park can be!

12 Easier to Run

This song is about abuse, as Chester was sexually abused as a child.

Something has been taken from deep inside of me
A secret I've kept locked away, no one can ever see (this means that he tried to keep it bottled up inside)
Wounds so deep they never show, they never go away
Like moving pictures in my head for years and years they've played (this shows how he can't get the thoughts of it out of his head and it haunts him)

Sometimes I remember the darkness of my past
Bringing back these memories I wish I didn't have (self-explanatory)
Sometimes I think of letting go and never looking back and never moving forward so there'd never be a past (he's willing to kill himself just to escape from the pain)

Just washing it aside, all of the helplessness inside
Pretending I don't feel misplaced is so much simpler than change (he wants to pretend it never happened so he doesn't have to change anything)

13 One Step Closer

The weight of the past being driven forward, crashing into your soul over and over again. To run or hide from the past, from people who continue to disappoint.
