Old Living Sacrifice for Dummies.

AngryByrd Let me just say, if everybody who voted Living Sacrifice up on the list knew how they sounded, they would definitely vote Slayer above them.

Here's some links to the first three of their albums (after these three, the vocals were awesome):

Living Sacrifice (1991): https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=LFSCaGP4rjg

Nonexistent (1992): https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=CR0GuCq1Ogo

Inhabit (1994): https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=XoOHTSCd9m0

On the self titled, it's just like I said. DJ is just yelling. No technique, no growl, no anything at all. Just forcing noise out of his lungs and hoping it sounds good. Needless to say, it doesn't. But it definitely sounds better than Tom Araya's vocals.

I liked that DJ at least tried to do a death growl on Nonexistent. Of course the lyrics to every song might as well just be "RARARRAAAAAA GRRARGRRRAR!" I have an easier time understanding Cannibal Corpse that I do this! Thankfully, the guitars on this album were perfect.

Inhabit is amazing! Except for the fact that DJ sounds like an angry, constipated gorrilla. This album is seriously heavier than anything Slayer ever did! It's a death metal album, and probably the only good one ever made! Sure the vocals are bad, but who cares!

Anyway, now that (hopefully) you've heard some of Living Sacrifice's material that I'm talking about, I would like you to go back and compare it to Slayer. Living Sacrifice's vocals are much more heavy and versatile than that of Slayer, and Living Sacrifice's music is, at times, better. Remember, this is my opinion alone. Still, I hope I have given you insight as to why Living Sacrifice deserve to be lower on the list than #2. Should they be on the list? Definitely. Should they be low on the list? Yes.
