RIP Little Bird

EvilAngel Two nights ago at the time of me writing this, I came back from work and on my path was a little baby Swift crawling on the floor, it must have fallen out of it's nest. My mom dad and me took it indoors and put it in a little box, it hadn't broken anything. It was refusing to eat, so the next morning we phoned our windowcleaner to use his ladders to put it back in it's nest. A whole day it must have been in the nest until the morning after my dad came home from work and saw the baby bird on the lawn. Somehow it'd fallen twice without breaking anything and without being had by a cat or fox, of which there's plenty round here. It's mom must have flew off thinking it was dead, so we took it indoors again, bought it some mealworms and had to put them down it's throat along with drops of water as this is how you feed baby swift's, their mouths have to be gently opened. We kept it warm and gave it every chance, but unfortunately a couple of hours ago it died in my Dad's hand. Though it wasn't here long, I felt like I'd been through a lot with it because of how I'd tried so much to help it and had bonded with it. It upset me, not only because of the bird dying but also because of how it got me thinking: how a lot of living things including humans of course die young and are never given a chance. This poorjlittle bird hadn't done anything wrong and died parentless and homeless. It shows a bigger picture: life and death. So true is the human race: we have scumbags living not giving a toss, and good lovely people dying of cancer or injury or heart attacks etc. It absolutely appalls and scares me. This is such a cruel thing to happen but it's made me think and grow up that extra bit more. Rest in peace little buddy.

Life is precious to all of us, it's just some are more deserving of that privilege. But sometimes an act of wrongdoing can leave the good dead, even if it wasn't direct. Just like this bird here, its parents may have just left it, or their parents may have been cat food, nevertheless, nature simply tears some worlds apart. - PositronWildhawk
