Martinglez loves #3: The Simpsons
Martinglez Here, of course, i will be talking about the older episodes, as today's episodes aren't as good.This is one of my favourite comedy shows. It's very funny and always had me laughing. Here are the reasons why The Simpsons is great.
The humour: Let's start by the most obvious reason, the humour of the show. There is not one joke that you feel is bad or cheesy (of course, i am talking about the older episodes). Plus, there are jokes that are thrown right at you, but there are jokes that are hidden in plain sight. There are jokes for everyone, and there are dirty jokes. There is certainly something for every taste, and that's great.
The characters: There are a lot of characters. And by a lot i mean A LOT. And they all provide funny jokes and genious humour. The main characters are of course great (specially Homer) and the side cast is also great and can provide great humour and good stories. There is not one character in this show i dislike, even the antagonists like Mr Burns or Sideshow Bob are very funny and memorable. And then there's the guest stars, all of them in classic episodes are great and also memorable.
The plots: I love The Simpsons plots. The Simpsons have done everything, they have done funny, heartwarming, interesting and original plots. They have tried everything and have almost always succeeded in older episodes. They are usually very unexpected since they usually start very differently to how the story is later continued.
The entertainment: This is a quality show that can't be enjoyed in every stages of your life. As a kid it is funny and enjoyable, as a teenager it is funny and enjoyable and as an adult it is funny and enjoyable. You may watch the same episode at different stages of your life and discover new jokes you may have missed.
This is why i love The Simpsons. It's a comedy like no other and I would certainly recommend it to anyone.
