I could really imagine lars narrating this, ii can just hear it in my head. - visitor

Um... Lars would never forget to include Ritchie Blackmore. And Lars would probably put Ritchie Blackmore in the top 3, if not higher. Why? Because Ritchie Blackmore mingled rock with classical and created the music genre now known as heavy metal.
Besides, Ritchie Blackmore created the metal solo (Highway Star). He also did many other things that are usually attached to other guitarists. Ritchie Blackmore is the most underrated guitarist and musician of all time.

Technically and musically Ritchie Blackmore was light years ahead of his time. Jimmy Page himself admitted Blackmore was better than him.
If I consider all aspects of musicianship, including innovation, speed, creativity, precision, technique, improvisation, emotion, songwriting, composing skills, live performance, and so on, I would say Ritchie Blackmore is #1. I don’t even talk about his particular riffs, solos and songs.

I can give more details in support of my opinion but I don’t need to do this because you can visit my list “Best Comments About Ritchie Blackmore on TheTopTens”. There aren't my comments on this list - I just selected comments by other people that give more information, details and overall, correct facts.

By the way, I liked the dialogues with the accents. I really enjoyed it. - Metal_Treasure

I would add several guitarists with mad skills:
Joe Satriani, Yngwie, Steve Vai, Ron Jarzombek, Marty Friedman, Jason Becker, Jeff Loomis, Jeff Waters, Gus G, Brennan Dylan, and many more. - Metal_Treasure
