RRF: The 5 Things That Used To Scare You When You Were Young

RoseRedFlower As kids, we were all scared of something. Whether it was your creepy next door neighbor Mr. Howard or something mundane like a butterfly. Things scared us. I'm going to list five things that scared me and you can do the same. Keep in mind that these might seem silly but to us as kids, they were scary.
1. King Ramses' Curse
I think I was about nine when I saw this episode first aired. This episode actually made me scared to watch Courage the Cowardly Dog. And it all comes from King Ramses himself. His voice was perfect and creepy. The animated CG they used on him made him look like something from out of this world. And everytime I saw him, I couldn't look away. Because if I did, he would send locusts to eat me. Just like he did with those two thieves at the beginning.
2. Twilit Beasts from the Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess
Yes, I know it seems silly now but those beasts scared me. I was in my teens but for some reasons, these freaks kept scaring me away, I spent more time trying to avoid them, than confront them. Being as scared as I was, I always insisted to my sister that she killed them, so I can move on. Yeah, it seems silly but I was terrified of them. Even now when I hear the music, it sends shivers down my spine.
3. The Orc That Killed Boromir
I was ten or so when I first saw Fellowship of the Ring from Lord of the Rings. Now one thing that always disturbed me was that orc that killed Boromir. He killed Boromir and shot three arrows at him. As a ten year old, I thought he was a sick monster. And heck, he was about to send a fourth arrow at him until Aragon saved him. Then I saw him licking blood off his blade, almost decapitate Aragon and then when Aragon stabbed him through the gut he taunted him. He pulled the sword in closer and deeper into its body while mocking Aragon. The Aragon finally killed the crazy orc. My mind was blown and that orc still left me unsettled.
4. Puppets, Dummies or Dolls in Movies
It didn't matter what they were, if they weren't human and looked like a plastic or wooden person, keep me away from it. Whether it was the Clown Doll from Poltergeist I watched, the dolls in Dolly Dearest or the first Child's Play movie and even reading the Goosebumps Night of the Living Dummy had me freaked out. Most because of where I lived. I spent part of my life growing up in my grandmas house and no joke, her hobby is collecting dolls. There was a giant room full of dolls with these dead eyes and thanks to everything I watched and saw, I thought these dolls would come alive and stab me.
5. Michael Myers
Yeah I know I should probably be more scared of him but I saw the original Halloween when I was thirteen. The thought of this masked silent killer coming every Halloween to kill people made my stomach turn. I could never watch Star Trek without being reminded of the hollow expression of Michael's mask. I actually really like Michael a lot more now and find him an iconic horror villain. So, I'm not so scared of him anymore. John Carpenter knew how to make him a boogey man though.
Please feel free to add in your own childhood nightmares. It can be from real life or in entertainment like with me. Anyways, have a splendid day!

When I was a kid, you know what scared me the most? Chest hair. I would run away screaming when I saw any. I never knew why -_- - TwilightKitsune
