J's Debate - Gay/Lesbian People

jmepa1234 I've read the whole of this list and I agree with the title - I have nothing against gay/lesbian people and I think they are treated harshly but I believe that many things can go wrong from being gay or lesbian. Bullying for example. However, this isn't the gay/lesbian's fault so the world should treat them the same as anyone else and this list wouldn't have been created.

I have always said that I'm against same-sex marriage, and that doesn't make me a homophobe. Note that I'm fine if some people are gay, I'm just against the "marriage", not the people themselves. The list is basically about the struggles of being a homosexual, not a list of reasons to hate gays. Certain people who hate this list act like a bunch of hypersensitive idiots who think it's "offensive" while it's not even the point of the list. - visitor

*claps* Agreed. - RiverClanRocks

My mom thinks that God is gonna end the world now that gays have the same rights as everyone else. - bobbythebrony

They've had the same rights ever since. And marriage isn't a "right". Gay union is fine, but marriage is really reserved for men and women. - visitor

My thoughts are simply that there should be a council of homosexuals who get to decide what gay people can do. - visitor

I think that hating people for who they are is very stupid and hypocritical. Its like saying that you should go to hell for being, say...a 17-year old. The old testament said that homosexuality is wrong, but personally I only believe the new testament, which never said anything against homosexuals. - visitor

If you think it isn't bad, then it's fine. However, there could be some unfavorable consequences that comes with being gay/lesbian. I'm not against them, there are great people who are homosexual, but you have to acknowledge the secular reasons against it. You don't have to blame the bible, as there are many other non-religious arguments against it. - visitor
