He deserves to be higher on this list, absolutely much more than this, he's the most soulful screamer I ever heard & very soothing singing voice too, & I hardly see anyone on this list who posses a wide vocal range as him, he can skim from soft to harsh or vice versa very easily. The only reason that he's not much popular is that Dir in Grey don't have much English songs. listen to Dozing green, Pledge, Lotus, Obscure

124 Brian Johnson Brian Johnson Brian Johnson is an English singer and songwriter. Since 1980, he is the lead singer of the Australian rock band AC/DC, with whom he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003. He can sing a hell of a lot better than David Lee Roth! I'm also wondering why Rob Halford is nowhere to be found!

He can sing anything and you will recognize his voice. Definitely my number 2

Top 20 rock singer of all time! One of a kind!

top 20!

125 Joe Elliott

Simply listen to the whole album by definitely leppard high n dry, or pyromania, tracks in particular: Mirror mirror, lady strange, too late for love, fractured love, and billys got a gun. Listen to that and try your best to argue there was a more powerful voice in the 80s, I think ull be enlightened. Much of definitely leppard was overshadowed by the pop music of hysteria

98? Are you kidding? Joe Elliott should be WAAY higher. Just listen to High n Dry, Pyromania, Hysteria, and all of their other albums. His voice is amazing! Long Live definitely Leppard!

126 Jon Anderson Jon Anderson John Roy Anderson, known professionally as Jon Anderson, is an English singer, songwriter, and musician best known as the former lead singer of the progressive rock band Yes, which he co-founded in 1968 with bassist Chris Squire.

Everyone one of these lists, including Rolling Stone, are so anti-prog, it is sickening! I not only possess a bachelors degree in music, but a masters degree as well. Hence, I think I know a thing or two about quality. Hands down, Jon Anderson is only second to Freddie Mercury as the greatest male rock vocalist of all time! Period. The End.

Greatest prog vocalist EVER. Also the most crazy, wonderful visionary ever.

Beautiful voice, not always sure what the lyrics mean? But for vocal range... Second to none (except Freddie perhaps? )

Jon is truly one of a kind. Whether it was prog, pop or synth suites, he made it magic and unique. Olias is one of the greatest solo efforts ever made.

127 Robin Zander

Seriously, for sheer talent, Robin is the best. That's right, better than Plant, Mercury and anyone else you can think of. He will never be acknowledged as such, BUT HE JUST IS.

So awesome it beggars belief. Pick any song / album from 1977 until now and Robin will astound you. He is the best I say.

Incredible, incredible vocalist. Crushes 98% of this list into dust.

The man now and always.

128 Takahiro Moriuchi

I can't believe I had to add him onto the list! He is an extremely talented vocalist and here's why:

He has an extremely huge range, has an amazing amount of power, has perfect tone, and, most of all, has an unbelievable amount of control in his voice. He can run, jump, spin, dance, and sprint on stage without having a shake in his voice. Many artists dance for a bit and are already out of breath. He can even belt for 13 seconds without a single shiver in his voice. He manages to sound even better live than he does in the studio versions.

Not to mention, he can sing ANY genre. Many rock singers can't sing soft songs or sing any falsetto. But Taka's voice is absolutely perfect in slow and soft songs like "heartache". His voice is almost magical. He has amazing tone and such a warm feel to his voice. He can also scream and sing with rasp amazingly. There's nothing he can't do!

Lastly, Taka pours every drop of his soul into his singing. It's the only person ...more

Taka has a wonderful voice. And he is the very first who sing English fluently from Japan.

His voice was so, sweet, amazing, powerful and the most powerful tone when he sing the high notes. And he's good to entertain his audience. He can dance following the beat of the song, jump high, cook, plays drum, guitar, and how he spin his red mic. Also, he can sing every genre. He ha a magnificent talent and voice. When he performed in the stage, he's just being him. his enjoying the show, he's just being one of them.

He wrote's songs that can touch your heart, it can be your theme song for your life. He can made you smile widely and head bang and make you sing along with his MAGNIFICENT voice. When you hear his voice it make you falling in love of his voice. They say, he's voice was seducing. When he performed, you can hear or feel that he sang the song with his heart and soul.

When he saw his audience enjoyed so much, it made him happy because of his songs made the ...more

Taka should be in the top five! He has a great vocal with a very as in VERY wide rage of voice. He just sing everything so perfectly. The first time I heard one of their songs, I immediately fell in love with his voice.

He just sound so romantic when he sings ballad. Its rare for a singer that belongs to a rock band to have such mellow and smooth voice. But for him it's like he just perfectly fit in every genre that he likes to sing. When he sings rock, you just can't help but move your head to the beat of the song. He is also a talented songwriter and he really thinks of the message that he will convey to people through his singing.

And one more thing is just he voice can still be perfect and clear even if he runs, jumps, dance and do other crazy stuff on stage. Its like that all that running and jumping didn't make him tired at all! If it was me, I'm pretty sure that my voice quality with drop, but him? Not a single change at all! I really really love him as a singer ...more

Every words are not enough for describing Taka... he's the perfect God creation...

His voice gives the songs an extra dimension that makes Pink Floyd so great, he should be way up on this list.

Love this band a lot. Vince back then should be way higher.

136 Chino Moreno Chino Moreno Chino Moreno is an American musician. He is best known as the lead vocalist and contributing guitarist of Deftones.

How on Earth is Chino not at least in the top 20? It doesn't matter what style of song he takes on or what band he's in... It always works. Every time.

Man, why is he not here. like come on, if you hear him you instantly take your clothes off!

He has the most amazing voice ever. His voice live has so much energy and emotion to it, it's so special. He's the only singer who can me make me cry.

Gerard Way's voice is so unique! He can sing really low and high, his voice is just perfect! I honestly never heard ONE performance where he was out of key. And that in itself says a lot. His voice is filled with emotion both live and in studio. He's one of the handful of singers that can make me cry, which is a big thing. He definitely deserves to be in the top 10, even compared to the biggest vocalists of rock music. The only reason I find why he's so low on this list is because not too many people (at least where I live) know My Chemical Romance.

Amazing vocals, wonderful songwriter, amazing artist.

SHOULD BE NUMBER ONE
