Top Ten Mangas You Should Read Rather Than Watching the Anime

The Top Ten
1 One Piece
2 Berserk
3 Slam Dunk
4 Orange

Please forget about the anime. The manga is one of the only few shoujo mangas that the boys will also love.

5 Tokyo Ghoul

I added it lower because I heard there will be a remake of the original manga.

6 Nisekoi
7 Claymore

Are you really gonna wait longer for the second season? Read the manga already. The art might seem pretty bad at first but that won’t be much of a problem as it is so awesome.

8 Blue Spring Ride
9 Negima! Magister Negi Magi

The anime covered the worst part of the manga also with the worst artwork possible.

10 Great Teacher Onizuka

The anime is good but do you know that it’s unfinished? Plus the artwork is better.

The Contenders
11 To Love-Ru

Actually both of them sucks but To Love-Ru Darkness is awesome.

The first manga is okay while the first anime series sucked.

12 Black Cat

I loved reading the manga, so I thought I'd check out the anime too. Sadly, I didn't enjoy it nearly as much. The anime starts out with Train's life as an eraser, but the manga's format of starting with Train's life as a sweeper with flashbacks to his former life had a better flow overall & kept the story at a good mix of dark & comedic elements. Even after Train became a sweeper in the anime, it still had a feel to it that resembled a dark back-alley, leaving the mood more serious than the originally funny manga had done so well. And the fight scenes are much better in the manga as well. In the manga, the action was at a decent pace with good visual appeal, but the anime's fights had a pattern of making a few moves, pausing to talk, a few more moves, pausing to talk again & just didn't seem as interesting as the manga. If you're interested in starting the Black Cat series, please just read the manga instead.

13 Pokemon

In my opinion The pokemon anime sucks but the manga and the games are awesome!

14 Tokyo Ghoul:re

16 Houshin Engi

I personally liked the anime, but the manga is PURE GENIUS. It's simultaneously tragic and hilarious, it's filled with good action and loveable characters, and it has an ending that will have you question your own existence. The anime only covered a tiny portion of the story and left out most of the best parts and characters...

17 Inuyasha
18 Strawberry 100%

The anime sucks as hell

19 Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches
20 Akame ga Kill

The show has been praised for its unique humor, but also noted for its extremely quirky and bizarre storyline.
22 Sailor Moon
23 Ojamajo Doremi
24 Grand Blue
