Top Ten Mario Kart Characters That Should Return In Mario Kart 9

Here is my fifth part! It is about the top 10 characters in my opinion that should return in Mario Kart 9.
Feel free to add characters or post comments, I would really appreciate that.
The next part is about new characters!
The Top Ten
1 Bowser Jr. Bowser Jr., or sometimes simply Jr., is a video game character who appears in Nintendo's Mario franchise as the secondary antagonist. He is the youngest son of the series' primary antagonist, Bowser.

The Koopalings were a great addition to Mario Kart 8. But would that be any reason to remove Bowser Jr.? NO! Bowser Jr. is awesome and I hated it he did not appear in Mario Kart 8. Bowser Jr. should take revenge!

Well, he was revived in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe...

If they brought him back in Mario Kart 8 deluxe then I’d say he has a 75% chance to make it back again in the next game

2 Funky Kong Originating from the SNES Donkey Kong Country, in which he is the CEO of Funky's Flights, this Kong absolutely tears up the race track with a massive +4 speed and +3 off-road stat, making him the most popular character in Mario Kart Wii online play.

In my opinion this was the best character ever! His way of speaking is funny, or no, funky! He could achieve the highest speed in Mario Kart WII. His look is amazing! And I want to see him returning in Mario Kart 9!

As a throwback for the Mario Kart Wii fans.

3 Birdo Birdo is a dinosaur that is well known for her (or his) confused Gender. It was originally stated that Birdo was a male who believed he was a female, but this was changed in later games. Birdo is commonly referred to as a girl, however, they are in a relationship with Yoshi. Birdo first appeared in Super Mario Bros. 2 as an enemy towards the player. She is now included in many spinoff titles of the Mario franchise as a playable character, including the Mario Kart series and the Mario Party series.

This person is the only girl in the list. But the reason why probably is that this is the only female character I play with a lot in several Mario games I own. And I missed her in Mario Kart 8.

I'm so confused as to why she wasn't in Mario Kart honestly.

Put her back in

4 Petey Piranha Petey Piranha is a large mutant of the Piranha Plant in the Super Mario franchise and debuted in Super Mario Sunshine. Since then, he has been a recurring boss in games such as New Super Mario Bros. and has also made appearances in sports and spin-off games.

My personal favorite fictional character. His design screams my name and his personality is very unique and expressive for one that doesn't speak. More personality than top-dogs like Bowser. Hasn't appeared playable since 2008, and we need his return!

I think I talked about it earlier: If Petey Piranha is going to return in Mario Kart 9, then the Potted Piranha Plant item must be removed. I think it won't. But I hope Petey Piranha becomes a playable character!

Unlikely but he would be a good candidate to make a return

5 Dry Bowser Dry Bowser is the fossilized version of the main antagonist of the Mario Bros. Franchise, Bowser. He first appeared in New Super Mario Bros. on the Nintendo DS after Bowser had been dumped into the lava and was left with his skeleton. Since then, Dry Bowser has appeared as a villain in games like Super Mario 3D Land, New Super Mario Bros games, and similar titles. He also appears in some Mario Spinoff series, including Mario Kart.

His first appearance in the Mario Kart series was in Mario Kart WII, and I thought the time was there to become playable. This is the character that I liked the most from the Wii version, only his smaller version Dry Bones is more liked by me. But Dry Bones probably returns since everybody hated it Dry Bowser was added in the DLC pack, and not Dry Bones. But I want Dry Bowser to return as well.

6 The Koopalings The Koopalings, or 7 Bowser Team in Japan, are a fictional group of seven childlike characters in the Mario video game franchise by Nintendo. Their individual names are Iggy, Larry, Lemmy, Ludwig von, Morton Jr., Roy, and Wendy O. Koopa.

IF Bowser Jr. doesn't return, the Koopalings apparently will. Look at the IF. I want Bowser Jr. to return more than the Koopalings, but this does NOT mean that the Koopalings aren't my favorite. Actually, I really liked the idea of adding seven new characters in the game by using the Koopalings. But since I heard rumors that the next Mario Kart game is going to be on a handheld, which is said to have less playable characters, I hope Bowser Jr. does return. And I think he will, not the Koopalings.

If and only if they have a drop down menu under bowser jr. They robbed seven spots that could have gone to other characters on this list

No die you guys

7 Paratroopa Koopa Paratroopas, also known as Sky Troopas, Para-Koopas, or simply Paratroopas, are winged versions of the Koopa Troopa in the Mario franchise. They lose their wings when they are stomped or jumped on in the air, turning them into normal Koopa Troopas.

This is the spiritual version of Koopa Troopa. His first official appearance as a playable character was in Mario Kart Double Dash! I personally would like it if he returns to any future Mario Kart game, but uh yeah I don't see that happening unless they annihilate Rosalina.

This is the flying version of Koopa Troopa. He already was a playable character in Mario Kart: Double Dash! I personally would like it if he returns, but the chance he does is like 1%...

8 Diddy Kong Diddy Kong is a fictional character in the Donkey Kong series of video games, first appearing in the 1994 game Donkey Kong Country.

Another character that is yet missed in Mario Kart 8. Maybe he returns in the next DLC pack? Will that DLC pack ever come, by the way? I think he will not make an appearance in Mario Kart 8, but I hope he will in Mario Kart 9. And they could add Dixie Kong as well then.

Diddy Kong needs to be involved in the Mario series more!

Surprised he didn’t make it into deluxe. Donkey Kong representatives have been dwindling since their peak in Mario Kart Wii. He needs to be brought back

Get these DLC's out now

9 Waluigi Waluigi is a lanky self-centered, brusque young lad as he is considered evil and the main rival of Luigi. Waluigi is shown causing local havoc in most games he appears in alongside his partner Wario. Waluigi is not instinctively evil or the antagonist (not counting DDR), as a matter of fact, he shows great compassion for his fellow peers, typically for characters Daisy and Wario. Waluigi is also described as lonely, rejected, sad, or depressed due to his relationship with the Super Smash Bros. franchise, and people outside of Nintendo continually rejecting him. In recent years, people have come to Waluigi's defense, giving him support and even starting a cult following. In sum, Waluigi is the ...read more.

This should have been in Mario kart 7 and 8!

10 Wiggler Wigglers are a species of caterpillar in the Mario franchise. They have a segmented body and comically large nose and are yellow slowly moving when happy, but turn red and run angrily very quickly if they get jumped on

I just couldn't put a number 10 on my list when I first thought about it. But I liked Wiggler from Mario Kart 7, though he is big and long and thin, so you can't see as much as when you race other characters. I wonder how he would look in Mario Kart 9. I got an idea: he lies in his vehicle. This makes his vehicle much longer, but he is a heavyweight, so it should be. And the Visuals wouldn't be ruined.

I don;t want Wiggler to return simply because it's weird that he in a car. And For Mario Kart 7, they gave him extra hands. That's just weird.

The Contenders
11 Mario Mario, originally named Jumpman, is the main character of the Super Mario Bros. franchise, created by the creative director and video game designer at Nintendo of Japan, Shigeru Miyamoto. Mario has appeared in almost every Mario game, including games in spin-off series as a playable character, with few exceptions including New Super Luigi U, Luigi's Mansion games, Yoshi's Island games, and similar counterparts. He is the most iconic character in video game history and is Nintendo's unofficial mascot. His franchise has grown to be the most successful video game franchise of all time.
12 King Boo In the Super Mario series, King Boo is the leader of all the Boos and a major antagonist. He is an ally of King Bowser. He is depicted as a large white Boo with a crown similar to that of Princess Peach. In the Luigi's Mansion series, King Boo serves as the main antagonist and Luigi's arch-nemesis. He is depicted as gargantuan, even larger than his Super Mario counterpart, with darker eyes, a purple tongue and pupils, and a golden crown with a corrupted power-enhancing jewel. He is considered to be one of the series' most evil villains.

Sometimes I wonder: how can he steer if his whole body moves through anything? But he was the funniest character in Mario Kart Wii to me. I mean, if he is drifting, he sticks out his tongue! The first time I saw it, I could not stop laughing! How of an ugly face! And then I started to like this character. And I like him so much he is one of my favorites. I want him to return!

Seems pretty likely if they brought him back in deluxe

13 Honey Queen Honey Queen (better known in Super Mario Galaxy as Queen Bee) is the queen of all the honeybees who is a very large bee and always talks nosism. She appears in both of the Super Mario Galaxy games, where she rules over all the honeybees in three different galaxies, and in Mario Kart 7 where she appears as a heavyweight unlockable driver.
14 Yoshi Yoshi, once romanized as Yossy, is a fictional anthropomorphic dinosaur who appears in video games published by Nintendo. Often appearing as a sidekick and helper to Mario, Yoshi is most known for his appearances in the Yoshi's Island and the Super Mario franchises.

Wait, he was always playable

15 Wario Wario is a character in Nintendo's Mario series who was originally designed as an antagonist to Mario. His motives are driven by greed and he will take the side of whoever will give him the most pay. Although he may seem like just a mean man with no heart, he does have a very tragic past.
16 Dry Bones Dry Bones is a common enemy species in the Super Mario series of video games since „Super Mario Bros. 3“ (1988). After his first debut as a playable character in „Mario Superstar Baseball“ (2005), he became a fan-favorite and also got playable in other spin-offs of the Mario series.

Another character brought back in deluxe.

He has been missed from 7 and 8.

17 Kamek Kamek is a common enemy in the Mario Bros. Franchise. He usually appears in New Super Mario Bros. Games, Super Mario Bros. Games, or other similar games. He also appears in spinoff titles, like Mario Party, in which he is not a playable character but creates an obstacle for the players on their way to winning, like mixing up their orbs.

Seriously Guys Kamek needs to make a Mario Kart 9 appearance. And if he doesn't I'm gonna be pissed off. Also, he was originally planed for Mario Kart 64 but for some reason was scrapped from the game.

18 Professor E. Gadd

Personally I think Professor E. Gadd would be a great character choice for Mario Kart 9. With all his popularity form the Luigi's Mansion series, he could be a good character for the game.

A really unique and underrated character

19 R.O.B.

A bit obscure in DS but would fit in perfectly now that non Mario characters are normal now
