Seasons 1-3 were fine, but season 4 was insanely mean-spirited.

Oh, and the most frequent targets of this (Ed and Edd) usually did nothing to deserve the abuse they get. Eddy's more of a jerk, but considering hellish characters like Kevin and ESPECIALLY Sarah, can you blame this guy? I hate this show a lot.

This show has gotten more cruel lately. One episode has Bart attenpt suicide because everyone is relentlessly bullying him for losing a baseball game. Another has Bart shamelessly exploiting Principal Skinner's peanut allergy. And yet another one has everyone hate the whole family after Bart accidentally moons the flag (long story).

And how is this worse than Mr. Pickles, Pre-Movie SB is one of the best cartoons in cartoon history, how on earth is Mr. Pickles worse, have you ever seen Band Geeks. Plus even the seasonal rot isn't as mean spirited as Mr. Pickles is.

Squidward torture and characters not getting karma after they did something bad (especially Mr. Krabs), this show is so bad in many different levels and out of character.

The writer thinks they want to treat the characters like trash, like Plankton in One Coarse Meal for example.
