He may not have the best harsh vocals, but his clean vocals are probably the best and most melodic. Just listen to songs like Misery's Crown and Ether Novas.
So much better then Laiho. Growls are amazing and SO MELODIC and you can actually understand his lyrics unlike a lot of other metal vocalists

Anders Fridén is the vocalist/lyricist of the Swedish metal band In Flames. Fridén was also the vocalist of Passenger, a side project. On his first couple of albums with In Flames, he sounded great, but on the later albums, not so much. His growl is a bit too screechy for my taste, and his cleans are a bit obnoxious.
He's not that much of a vocalist, but has the perfect fry screaming voice.

Trevor Strnad was an American singer and musician mostly known as the lead vocalist and frontman of The Black Dahlia Murder. I haven't found a second vocalist with the same range and diverse sound as Trevor. If someone did, please send it to me.
Trevor has an amazing voice. He can do high screams and traditional growls. Trevor is awesome, BDM is awesome.

Alf Peter Tägtgren is a Swedish musician, multi-instrumentalist and producer. He is the founder, main songwriter, lead vocalist, and guitarist of the death metal band Hypocrisy as well as the industrial metal band PAIN in which he is the only member. Very good range from low growls to high shrieks and ability to switch between different registers also good clean singing. All his vocals sound really hellish and demonic.

While listening you clearly hear euphonious melodies all over their music. The right genre name would be "Progressive Melodic Death Metal", but since that name is pretty long and "Melodic" is a vague description for music, many leave this out. PURE "Progressive Death Metal" without beeing too melodic are played by Death or Horrendous.

Genre arguing is pointless; the minute differences between them amount to jack when no one agrees to any precise characteristics describing a genre, and when there is no way to measure just how very melodic one band is versus another. Angela Nathalie Gossow is a German vocalist, best known as the former lead vocalist for the Swedish melodic death metal band Arch Enemy. Seems to be one of the few female metal singers who could make awesome music without sex appeal. Pure talent. Arch Enemy is so much more than having an attractive woman singing, that goes for both Angela and Alissa (though I prefer Angela, she has a better growl).
