Because Tir is a commander of the Liberation Army, that puts him at odds with his father Teo, who is an Imperial General. In this fight, Tir bests his father and he dies.
At the risk of sounding broken, yes it's another death scene, the first one in fact. Odessa keeps a child alive at her own expense, and tells Tir to lead the Liberation Army in her stead. Also all the plotline deaths give new spells to the Soul Eater Rune on Tir.
Entrusting Tir as his closest friend, Ted gives the Soul Eater to him to make sure that Lady Windy never gets the Soul Eater, and we don't see Ted for a long time.
At Shasarazade, oil barrels were supposed to be lit, and Sanchez lights them early. Coming out of the fortress Tir finds a wounded Mathiu and an angry Flik who calls him out on his betrayal. Sanchez is still allowed in the Liberation Army though, despite him being the spy.
He turns into a Golden Hydra here, which is pretty cool. Barbarossa exclaims what's left of his empire.
After the final battle, Windy tries to forcefully take the Soul Eater from Tir, but the afterimages of Odessa, Gremio, Teo, and Ted appear and the rune rejects her.
Tir's party gets flung into the past and finds a younger Ted, and we learn how Ted got the Soul Eater and lived 300 more years or so. Also the village gets burned down too.
Viktor's village was attacked by Neclord, and we learn that his journey is revenge against that vampire. Confronting him in his castle with the Star Dragon Sword, he finally gets his revenge on Neclord.
Searching for a way to prevent Kwanda Rosman from destorying the elves, the party finds they were too late to stop him.
