An icon in film. He's a perfectly developed villain in the original trilogy of Star Wars. Darth Vader is a very quotable and instantly-recognizable character, he has lots of memorable moments especially the "I Am Your Father" scene in The Empire Strikes Back. There's nothing to hate about him! Well except his appearance in the prequels, but lets not talk about that, we're talking about original trilogy Vader!

Before even watching the Star Wars movie series, I've always heard of the name Darth Vader. He should definitely be number one.

So memorable that even people who aren't fans of Star Wars are familiar with him.

Besides Vader, Norman, Anton, and Hannibal this list is weak.

2 The Joker - The Dark Knight The Joker is a fictional super villain created by Bill Finger, Bob Kane, and Jerry Robinson who first appeared in the debut issue of the comic book Batman (April 25, 1940) published by DC Comics. This has got to be one of the best acting performances I've ever seen in any film. People doubted Heath Ledger as first, but then he soon completely blew them all away with this performances from that face to that maniacal laugh. He has some of his best quotes in this film like "Why so serious? " and "Let's put a smile on that face! ".

When I watch the Joker in The Dark Knight, I don't see an actor anywhere. Heath Ledger just disappears into the role and just becomes the Joker. Definitely one of the greatest acting performances ever.

And an even better cartoon villain

O for overrated

3 Lord Voldemort - Harry Potter Lord Voldemort is a fictional character and the central main antagonist in J. K. Rowling's series of Harry Potter novels. Voldemort first appeared in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, which was released in 1997.

A dark wizard. You know you're an evil bastard if you it's horrible to even have your name spoken.

The books are better!

He's a good villain in the movies too.

He who must not be named

A teenage girl

He's my favorite movie villain!

5 Dr. Hannibal Lecter - The Silence of the Lambs Dr. Hannibal Lecter is a character in a series of suspense novels by Thomas Harris. Lecter was introduced in the 1981 thriller novel Red Dragon as a forensic psychiatrist and cannibalistic serial killer.

A very disturbing character. His name says it, he's a cannibal.

He looks so full of himself

Pretty scary guy

Best Disney villain for sure! He is one evil bastard. He killed his own BROTHER and attempted to kill his nephew... TWICE! One of his most memorable lines from the movie was "Long live the king" which was when he was about to throw Mufasa off the cliff.

No, he is not the best.

The most recent movie villain on this list unless you count him from the 1990 film but we're talking about the newer version of Pennywise or should I say, IT. IT was one of the best horror films we got this year! The most memorable thing about IT was Pennywise, he is a very VERY interesting character if you look into his origins online, turns out that the clown is not it's true form and Pennywise isn't IT's name, IT is simply IT.

8 Anton Chigurh - No Country for Old Men Anton Chigurh is a fictional character and the main antagonist of Cormac McCarthy's 2005 novel, "No Country for Old Men." In the 2007 film adaptation of the same name, he is portrayed by Javier Bardem.

The scariest non-horror movie villain, he's an assassin, deadly murderer. From the picture, he just looks like some random middle-aged guy, but watch the movie, he's crazy.

Why is he depressed?

9 Norman Bates - Psycho Norman Bates is a character created by writer Robert Bloch as the main character in his novel Psycho, and portrayed by Anthony Perkins as the primary antagonist of the 1960 film of the same name directed by Alfred Hitchcock and its sequels.

A psychopath. That one shower scene shows you his evilness.

10 Lots-O'-Huggin' Bear - Toy Story 3

THis guy is the reason that Toy Story 3 is as good as it is, that and the incinerator scene

The best Pixar villain, he runs that sweet little daycare like Alcatraz prison.

I like him, but I don't think he is top ten material.

Is this really top 10 material?
