I have tons of respect for Super Mario 64, and I love Crash Bandicoot, but while those games represent the start of a new era that needs improvement to be truly great, Donkey Kong Country 3 represents the opportunity for the SNES to reach its full potential after 6 years of great games. And while not being as fun as DKC 2 for not being as fun to 100% and lacking some sense of detail and charm, it at least have better bosses and overall level-design if you ask to me. Plus it has an actually good save system. Speaking of which, Crash Bandicoot could probably have my vote for the best game of this year if it had an actually good save system like this game.
