62 UnderOath UnderOath

In fairness before Underoath became the awful cliched Jesus loving crap people know them for, they had a really good black metal sounding album called Cries of the Past. Sadly, it seems the band are no talent hacks nowadays and will never release an album even a quarter as good as that album was.

Define the Great Line, most influential hardcore album of the last ten years, not to mention best album of the last ten years. Also one of the few bands really from the 2000's on this list. Made some metal but mostly hardcore. Most sellingest hardcore band in history.

This band is outstanding you! Yeah you whos reading this you have to pick this band up man/girl they will rock your face off.

Wonder What's Next is a work of art from beginning to end.

Dude everyone of their albums is a peach. Vena Sera, Sci-Fi Crimes, La Gargola, etc. So much better than almost every other band

64 Exodus Exodus Exodus is an American thrash metal band formed in 1979 in Richmond, California. Spanning a career of 37 years, Exodus has gone through numerous lineup changes, two extended hiatuses, and the deaths of two former band members.

Tempo of the Damned (2004)

Come on! 3 great studio albums in 4 years...

65 In Flames In Flames In Flames is a Swedish melodic death metal band from Gothenburg, Sweden, formed in 1990. more.

In flames should be way higher. Disturbed and Slipknot high then in flames. Really those bands should not even be listed in a top 100 best metal bands. Cause there not Metal there Nu metal bull. Yeah metal is in the word nu metal but real metal fans would never vote slipknot or disturbed higher then Lamb of God In Flames children of bodom. Underoath is higher then in flames seriously wow!

Peaked in the 1990s with some really good melodic death metal. Their 2000's material... less so. Clayman and Come Clarity are cool albums but on the other hand Soundtrack to Your Escape is probably one of the worst metal albums ever made.

Great vocals, great lyrics, and it's one of the inventors of melodic death metal.

Maybe the best melodic metal band

66 Tokio Hotel Tokio Hotel Tokio Hotel are a pop rock band from Magdeburg, Germany, consisting of Bill Kaulitz (singer), Tom Kaulitz (guitar), Gustav Schäfer (drums) and Georg Listing (keyboards, bass) that formed in 2001. more.

Love the band but honestly how are they even in a "best metal bands" chart? If you ask me they only just make it into the rock category.

67 Breaking Benjamin Breaking Benjamin Breaking Benjamin is a American post-grunge/alternative metal band formed in 1998. The bands members all changed in the time between 2010 to 2014, with the exception of Ben Burnley (Vocals). The Ex-Members included Chad Szeliga (Drums), Aaron Fink (Guitar) and Mark Klepaspi (Bass). more.

OH HELL NO! Breaking Benjamin deserves to be in the TOP TEN! No other band has as much meaning to their music as Breaking Benjamin (especially the Phobia Album). No other band can copy their sound, their guitar and drums, especially the bass. Breaking Benjamin is definitely Number One in my book.

This is not the only underrated band on here... But definitely the most severe. Benjamin Burnley is arguable the best vocals metal vocals in terms of talent, songwriting, and voice control.. EVER. This rating is ludacris.

Breaking Benjamin deserves to be in the top ten, I heard a rumor that they will have new music out at the end of 2012.

Breaking benjamin is my favourite band.

67? Come on guys, wow, gojira and mastodon out side the top 10? Seems like interesting music isn't on most peoples agender. It would kill you guys to listen to something that isn't mainstream would it? I seriously recommend checkin these guys out, you'll thank me later.

Epic sound! Overall. If you don't know who gojira is you need to put down your Britney Spears records an give these guys a chance.

Really good band. They do a bit of everything, they've went more pop-rock in recent times, but on their day they can kick it with anyone.
Bit dissapointed not to see Five Finger Death Punch on the list, I mean, on a list thay included Attack Attack, ACDC and Tokio Hotel?
And Marilyn Manson, who isn't a "band" at all, is a bit off the mark.

Greatest band ever. That's my opinion though. I love how they play and sing a little bit of everything. I could listen to there music all daay. I love them

Listen to them. They're really good. Sort of pop-punky and metalcore. - eaglerunner24

72 Baroness Baroness Baroness is an American heavy metal band from Savannah, Georgia whose original members grew up together in Lexington, Virginia.

Baroness yet another act that has almost fallen into obscurity thanks to mainstream acts like A7X and Trivium smothering the airwaves. Really everyone, Baroness is not only a band to follow, they are dream to see LIVE. These guys are musicians. They give you extras throughout the show and will hang out with fans afterwards! More to the point, their Red and Blue albums are both absolute metal behemoths. John and Pete's vocal harmonies are perfect, and the riffs these guys put out are both melodic and heavy as hell! Their three EP's are another example of fine heavy music. Yellow&Green was a bit of a diversion from their heavy path, but showcases their amazing musicianship throughout. Again, just an amazing band to follow.

73 Symphony X Symphony X Symphony X is an American progressive metal band from Middletown, New Jersey. Founded in 1994, the band consists of guitarist Michael Romeo, keyboardist Michael Pinnella, drummer Jason Rullo, lead vocalist Russell Allen and bassist Michael Lepond.
