1 Iron Maiden
Iron Maiden are an English Heavy Metal band formed in Leyton, East London, in 1975 by bassist and primary songwriter Steve Harris. The most critically acclaimed period for the band was from 1983-1989. But returned in 1999, and now the band has three guitar players. ...read more. My favorite synth in Iron Maiden songs is the intro of Moonchild. Other pleasant bits:
- the wind sounds at the beginning and the end of When the Wild Wind Blows
- the helicopter sound in The Edge of Darkness
- the intro of The Angel of the Gambler (yes, I find the intro pretty good despite the rest of the song)
- the synths in the intro of Don't Look to the Eyes of a Stranger harmonise well with the guitars and later the vocals
- the intro of If Eternity Should Fail (it sounds like the opening credits to a documentary about space)
- the piano in Empire of the Clouds (it's not a synth but the list title says keyboard instruments, not only keyboards)
Thanks for mentioning me
I saved this for Alkadikse (the pleasure to comment on them). But it doesn't mean other people can't comment. I just know that Alkadikse particularly liked how Iron Maiden used synths.
