I totally agree, whether it's pale communication (2014) or black water park(2001) all of them are great. - Ananya

I don't care what anyone says, their last 2 albums are great. So few bands play progressive rock anymore and none do it better than Opetj - ryanrimmel

I agree 100%. Both Heritage and Pale Communion are 2 of my favorite prog rock albums ever, even compared to bands like Pink Floyd, Rush, King Crimson, etc.. My personal favorite song from their last 2 albums is The Devil's Orchard, and Moon Above, Sun Below is great as well. Their new album will most likely be pretty amazing too. - AngryByrd

Tool is the Pink Floyd of heavy metal for me, so much thought is put in their music. Sure, they rarely release anything, but quality over quantity any day - ryanrimmel

It's hard to mess up with only four albums, but when each one seems to raise the standard for an almost perfect band, it's a bit hard to ignore. - AngryByrd

Yes! Amazing, atmospheric, dark, sludgy progressive post metal. They don't really fall into any subgenre. They are very unique - ryanrimmel

The most consistent metal band I know - 10 albums as of 2015 and 30 years of improvement: every new album is better than the previous one.

Blind Guardian changed their subgenre several times but never disappointed. Moreover, they created at least one masterpiece in every subgenre they tried: from thrashy speed metal to symphonic metal. Blind Guardian did these metal subgenres in their own unique way so they didn't sound like the other bands in these subgenres. They never sold out and never did a subgenre that isn't metal. - Metal_Treasure

The x factor & Virtual XI

14 Alice in Chains Alice in Chains Alice in Chains is an American rock band formed in Seattle, Washington, in 1987 by guitarist and songwriter Jerry Cantrell and original lead vocalist Layne Staley.

When TDPDH is the 'worst' you ever did and it is still top notch, I think AIC is the obvious choice. Not even in my top 5 favourite bands, but when it comes to Cantrell and the boys releases "failling" is a word that simply doesn't exist.

Ghost are amazing, and definitely one of the most creative bands around. I really wish they wouldn't receive so much elitism for having clean vocals and not just being a bunch of blastbeats and screaming. - AngryByrd

Sure, they only have 3 albums. Sure, they're new. People may call them "untrve" or "pop metal". I disagree with those, every song on every album amazes me - ryanrimmel
