141 Throwdown

Pretty decent Pantera-esque metal. I have 'Deathless' and 'Venom and Tears' and both are good.

142 Hirax

Trve Norwegian Black Metal. So obscure that 0% voted for this. One of the most preeminent bands to exist. - LadyBanshee

146 The Chariot

Awesome band, but they are punk not metal.

147 Atrox
148 Eluveitie Eluveitie

I LIKE THIS BAND'S EVERY SONGS... Welcome to the land of questions
Welcome to the isle of lore
Where the veil came crumbling down

There it all began, the germination
Unveiling a cryptic door
There it was revealed, hopes and aspirations
Unclosing an enthralled door

Escalate the sense
Enhancing to join the dawn

I close my eyes, Inis Mona
And reminisce of those palmy days
I moon o'er you, Inis Mona
As long as I breathe, I'll call you my home

20 years I have walked your barrows
Years of emulous youth
I followed the path of the wise

There it all was sown, the inspiration
Removing the seven seals
There it was revealed, enigma and freedom
Unclosing an unseen door

Best rhythm in the world! Best melodic music combination ever!

Inis Mona is probably the best song in the world and you say this band is No 133? Are you kidding me?

How on Earth they are #142. This is a fantastic band. They deserve place in Top 20.

149 The Scorpions

Without a doubt my favorite metal band, and they also cross over into my hard rock list. The most material that will keep me rockin' for as long as I wish. Seen them many times.

Here I'm rock you like a hurricane and I take a wind of changes but I still love you, always, so have many good things to love this band... And unforgettable show with Berlin Philharmonic orchestra.., the best in my point of view

Guys, this is a shame. They have been around long before most users of the internet were even born. - Prawnstar

The first metal band ever. Period.

150 Mercyful Fate Mercyful Fate Mercyful Fate was a Danish heavy metal band from Copenhagen, formed in 1981 by vocalist King Diamond and guitarist Hank Shermann.

Why are Mercyful Fate not even on the first page? They should at the VERY least be in the top 20.

We know that This website isn't trust worthy at all either by judging from the fact that Avenged Sevenfold is at the top 10 & mercyful fate is the top 229th or that dio is the 22nd

Look, this site is old school, hence Metallica, Slayer, Sabbath, Priest, Megadeth inside the top ten. Mercyful Fate only released 2 official albums and a couple of rare ep's. That doesn't mean they're not better than some inside the top ten-or-twenty, but when you're old school you have to grin and bear it.

Very underrated! - htoutlaws2012

151 Avantasia Avantasia Avantasia is a German supergroup rock opera project created by Tobias Sammet, vocalist of the band Edguy.

are you serious big sound great song writing this has to be a lot higher

I never like metal before, but I became the great fan of metal after hearing the song, In my defense (Avantasia).

Probably one the best power metal bands! Nothing' more to say bout that.

Tobi is a modern composer of utter genius - Prawnstar

152 Saxon Saxon Saxon are an English heavy metal band formed in 1976, in South Yorkshire. As one of the leaders of the new wave of British heavy metal, they had eight UK Top 40 albums in the 1980s including four UK Top 10 albums and two Top 5 albums.

Yes, even I forgot about this band. I have one on vinyl, but that's it. I think they were there with Priest and Maiden, and they were very popular, but fell off the radar - for me at-least.

Seriously? On this list there aren't those masterpiece of metal?

153 Ministry Ministry Ministry is an American industrial metal band founded by lead singer and only original member Al Jourgensen in 1981. Originally a new wave synthpop outfit, Ministry changed its style to industrial metal in the mid-1980s.

The mighty Al Jourgensen! Beast of a guitar player, and I loved his collaboration with Jello Biafra.

154 Hatebreed Hatebreed Hatebreed is an American metalcore band from Connecticut, formed in 1994. They have released 7 studio albums to date, most recently The Concrete Confessional on May 13, 2016. Their musical style blends influences from hardcore punk and heavy metal; a prominent band within the hardcore scene, they have more.

Hatebreed were one of the new breed of so-called 'hardcore' metal bands, a term redefined after Minor Threat, Agnostic Front etc. became extinct. Also, there was absolutely nothing commercial about Metallica. They were the antithesis of commerciality, but success chose them, not the other way round. Sure, things have changed, but you must give credit where credit's due. Also, no Metallica no Hatebreed because although they're different styles, all the swift aggressive bands and sub-genres were born from the creators of thrash.

Great band, they should be on the list somewhere!

One of the best of power metals, they're simply insane. Should be on top 10, unlike Metallica overrated and commercialised.

This list is an absolute joke. Hatebreed's not even in the list. Undoubtedly and with pure dominance over 12 years, they are and should be number 1. enough said...

155 Havok Havok Havok is an American thrash metal band from Denver, Colorado. Formed in 2004, their members currently consist of David Sanchez, Nick Schendzielos, Pete Webber, and Reece Scruggs.

So underrated. Just listen to "prepare for attack.

These guys are the future of thrash

156 Hellyeah Hellyeah Hellyeah is an American heavy metal supergroup, consisting of Mudvayne vocalist Chad Gray, former Nothingface guitarist Tom Maxwell, bass player Kyle Sanders, guitarist Christian Brady and former Pantera and Damageplan drummer Vinnie Paul.

Hellyeah shouldn't be so low on the list

157 Alice Cooper Alice Cooper Alice Cooper was an American rock band formed in Phoenix, Arizona in 1964. The band consisted of lead singer Vince Furnier, Glen Buxton, Michael Bruce, Dennis Dunaway, and Neal Smith.

Alice Cooper should be number 1! HOW IS HE EVEN 506!?!? Makes no sence, the man created shock rock. A lot of the people on this list wouldn't be here with out him!

510? Somethings wrong here...

158 Falkenbach Falkenbach
159 Chimaira Chimaira Chimaira was an American heavy metal band from Cleveland, Ohio. Formed in 1998, the group was a notable member of the New Wave of American Heavy Metal scene.

I'm surprised to see chimaira is so low on the list I agree with most the comments about linkin park being above great hard metal bands such as chimaira and lamb of god.. The people who voted on this should kill themselves out of shame... Travis long

160 Evile Evile Evile are an English thrash metal band from Huddersfield, formed in 2004. The band's debut album, Enter the Grave, was produced by Flemming Rasmussen at Sweet Silence Studios in Copenhagen, Denmark and was released worldwide in 2007 by Earache Records to critical acclaim by fans and critics alike.

The Horror! A band that likes Metallica might be influenced by them. What on Earth can make a human being influenced by something? There should be no DNA, no tastes, no acknowledgement whatsoever. If you are creative, and it isn't 100% original, then you do not deserve your place among us mere mortals.

Hey, throw a brick at the lead-singer, just like all the others who dislike this band. I bet you're the one's who own Trivium albums and conveniently forget how much they want to be like Metallica. Hypocrites.

Also, for the record, they don't sound much like Metallica anyway. 'Skull' is more Slayer than Metallica, and, wait for it...if you give them a chance, guess what? You just might like them. Horrific, I know.

The Great Band Ever!
