Top 10 "Best Of" Metal Compilation Albums

To release a good "Best Of" album, a band needs good songs that were previously released.
The Top Ten
1 The Very Beast of Dio - Dio

I think the album title is also very creative - "The Very BeAst of Dio"

2 Somewhere Back In Time - Iron Maiden

The Best of: 1980 - 1989, released in 2008

3 Soundtrack to the Apocalypse - Slayer
4 The Dio Years - Black Sabbath
5 Memories of a Time to Come - Blind Guardian

3 CDs released in 2012.

All songs on the first two discs were remixed, with the exception of "Sacred Worlds".
Three songs were even re-recorded for this album: "The Bard's Song (In the Forest)", "Valhalla" and "And Then There Was Silence".
I didn't believe they re-recorded their longest and most complex song - And Then There Was Silence, first released in 2001. But the 2012 version happened to be the best studio version of this song out of 3.

6 Back to the Start - Megadeth
7 Reinventing Hell - Pantera
8 The Ultimate Collection - Black Sabbath
9 Dark Genesis - Iced Earth

It's a five-disc box set

10 Sign of the Times: The Best of Queensryche
The Contenders
11 Best of Fear - Primal Fear

Released in 2017. They are a very good band

12 Monuments - Edguy
13 Anthology: Set the World Afire - Megadeth
14 Greatest Hits - Black Sabbath
15 A Traveler's Guide to Space and Time - Blind Guardian
16 The Blessed and the Damned - Iced Earth
