Top 10 "Best Of" Metal Compilation Albums

To release a good "Best Of" album, a band needs good songs that were previously released.

I think the album title is also very creative - "The Very BeAst of Dio"

2 Somewhere Back In Time - Iron Maiden

The Best of: 1980 - 1989, released in 2008

3 Soundtrack to the Apocalypse - Slayer

4 The Dio Years - Black Sabbath

5 Memories of a Time to Come - Blind Guardian

3 CDs released in 2012.

All songs on the first two discs were remixed, with the exception of "Sacred Worlds".
Three songs were even re-recorded for this album: "The Bard's Song (In the Forest)", "Valhalla" and "And Then There Was Silence".
I didn't believe they re-recorded their longest and most complex song - And Then There Was Silence, first released in 2001. But the 2012 version happened to be the best studio version of this song out of 3.
