Top 10 Metal Songs with Spanish or Latino Music Influences

The Top Ten
1 Magnetic Propulsion (Tientos) - Flametal

A song of 2014.
Flametal play instrumental flamenco metal, i.e. a mix of flamenco and metal. Never expected this combination to work but it did and it sounds very beautiful. One of the best experiments in metal.
Guitarist is Ben Woods who is both flamenco and metal (rhythm) guitarist. Electric guitar solos were played by Glen Drover (ex-Megadeth).

2 Time What Is Time - Blind Guardian

A power metal song of 1992 with flamenco intro. The contrast of the transition is one of my favorite parts of this song.

3 The Shadow Hunter - Angra

Traditional Brazilian music and flamenco are very well incorporated in this song of 2004. And Kiko Loureiro is awesome on the guitar! (Angra are a power metal band from Brazil)

4 Cosmosis (Bulerias) - Flametal

Incredible flamenco metal instrumental, 2014.
Loose description of the song structure:
short flamenco intro, thrash metal riffs, power/speed metal section with relevant drumming, prog metal sections, and of course - more flamenco. Sounds weird? Yes. But also sounds amazing.

5 Roots Bloody Roots - Sepultura

A song with Brazilian native music

6 Caveman - Angra

A song of 2018.
The instrumental part of the song is quite proggy with Spanish/Latino influences (play the sample)

7 Alien Ghost Maneuvers - Flametal
8 Unholy Wars - Angra

I get some tribal feel, perhaps Native Brazilian music (play the sample)

9 Painters of the Tempest, Pt. III (Reveries from the Stained Glass Womb) - Ne Obliviscaris

Instrumental by an extreme progressive metal band - play the song sample to hear the flamenco guitar

10 Sueños Bajo el Mar - Arkania

The song is in Spanish and the band is from Spain

The Contenders
11 Cuatro Cervezas (Sevillanas) - Flametal
12 Legacy of Djinn (Bulerias) - Flametal
13 Aces High - Flametal

Iron Maiden instrumental cover, flamenco metal style
