Worst Metal Bands of All Time

If we're being honest, if the title of this list were "Most Overrated Metal Bands" instead of what it is, it'd make a lot more sense. A lot of these bands aren't even bad, it's just that a lot of purists think they are because they're popular. Bands like Limp Bizkit and Babymetal are fun to listen to, Linkin Park has a lot of solid albums, BMTH aren't even a metal band anymore, and when they were, their music wasn't bad. Bands like AA, Emmure, and Attila are just geared toward a different demographic, but each of them have at one point or another released enjoyable music. Even 5FDP, who I can't stand anymore, have released enjoyable music at one point.

I don't mind the music as much as I hate the band in general. For one they all are in it because they wanted to be famous. The second this is the lead singer, Oliver Sykes, basically came out as being a former drug addict, but then in a interview not too long after that he stated that he didn't regret doing drugs, and he said that everyone should do drugs in some point in their lives. I used to occasionally listen to their music, but after that I've gone completely off them. I don't find how people would want to support someone who says everyone should try drugs at some point in their lives. Marilyn Manson almost had his complete career destroyed after being blamed for a school shooting that he was in no way responsible for the boys behaviour, yet some lead singer of a "metal" band can come out, tell millions of his fans that they should try drugs and people couldn't give two cents? Do you realize how many of his teenage fans would've then thought it would've been ok to go and try drugs? Honestly, this pisses me off so much. Bring Me the Horizon is a band with bad morals, and Oliver Sykes is stupid.

Terrible terrible band. Bands like this are why Metalcore gets a bad image. Grating screamed vocals that sound like an emo kid trying to be "br00tal" and whiny clean vocals that sound like they belong in a Fall Out Boy song.
The instrumentals are better than the vocals but they still consist of generic breakdowns a lot of times.

If you really think about it (and actually LISTEN to their music) these guys are actually pretty good. (except for their first album, which is terrible) You can't deny how unique of a voice Danny Worsnop has. Otherwise, they're just a good metalcore band.

I might just quit my job, and make it my full time profession warning people against this band. They are so bad, the have the potential to ruin music forever. Even the earliest tribal beats, the music of Motzart, the sounds of the Beatles, will all be eclipsed under the umbrella term of music - that thing that Attila ruined, and no one wants to hear sounds anymore. A whole planet of people who tore their own ears off just for the sweet silence.

This band is a disgrace to metal. It currently sits 15th, whilst Marilyn Manson, one of my favourite band sits 6th. What is wrong with you people? You clearly do not understand what good and bad music is if you put Marilyn Manson as a worse metal band than Attila. Attila is literally garbage, some of the worst music I've ever heard in my life.

Why is Judas Priest on this list? Anyway Emmure blah! I like Nu metal, I like some death metal, and even viking metal but I can't stomach whatever the hell kind of metal emmure supposedly is. They are not good the singer barely does anything but says blaah for like 2 minutes says a word then blaah again... I just saved you a whole Emmure ticket. I mean in death metal there are some crazy weird growls but they play real instruments instead of a stupid computer or whatever they use in emmure. They are just a bad band! Well maybe not in this day and age because these days less real instruments you play the better a muscian you are. Makes a lot of sense right? Thanks Emmure for destrying whatever metal we have left

Butt-rock for whiny try-hard man-children. Every riff is the same, the lyrics sound like they were written by an edgy middle schooler attempting to do a one-sided rap battle, every musician involved is so unbelievably weak and being "patriotic" is about the most un-metal thing I can think of. They are the worst metal band of all time, definitely in the top 5 worst rock bands of all time and up there for worst band of all time across all genres. How a nu-metal band is making a profit after 2010 I will never understand.

The only reason I am voting for marilyn manson is because they should not even be on this list. They arn't metal, they have even said so themselves. They are shock rock not metal so they don't belong hear. As for myself, I am actualy a fan of marilyn manson, of all pop mucisians out there, I think the lead singer, brian Warner's lyrics have the most meaning to them. I also like how he is not afraid to be unique but he doesn't do things just to get attention. (Most people I know have never heard of him) so yeah, they are the worst metal band because they are'nt metal.

So it isn't what is expected of metal. Big deal. I don't see J-pop as very radio-friendly. It doesn't appeal to everyone. I don't care for all of there material, but I like a few of their songs from their debut. But Metal Resistnce is one of my favorites from 2016. Also, even if you don't consider it metal, why the hell is that a reason to hate a group. Opening for Lady Gaga was an idea from the producers who represent them. Even if it is a marketing plan, it doesn't sound plastic like the top 40 does. The backing musicians and the talented vocals of Su prevent that. There new album is more metal anyway. The three girls themselves have contributed to some of the materials writing process. I think that is is sort of a gimmick, but a bit more than one. The man who writes the majority of the material seems to enjoy what he writes, as well as even helping the three get into metal. There seems to be more music involved. I think that the hate that surrounds Babymetal is ridiculous.

They were trying to be bad intentionally, and they did really well. They are not supposed to be taken seriously. They are the grindcore version of CC.

Pornogrind music is disgusting and vulgar and if you listen and love this type of 'music' and what it stands for, you're a twisted person and literally need to get your head out of the gutter.

People need to understand that not only is this a joke with lyrics, but with music as well. They try to be bad, which is what makes them funny.

I am so surprised that I add these guys in this list. Their lyrics are so misogynistic and vulgar.

I hate Deicide. And no, its not about them hating on religion as much as its more about how this band operates. Influential? Yeah well, so was Death, Obituary, Cannibal Corpse and Morbid Angel, who are better.

Also, their music just falls flat for me and the vocals are wholly a miss for me. But my biggest issue with Deicide is the frontman, Glen Benton himself. Glen IS the band after all, and he's the reason why Deicide is terrible. He done absolutely nothing to either reinvent or innovate the band and there's nothing new to them, the lyrics are a copy-paste from one previous album after another.

I don't care if you hate Christianity and worship Satan, but at least I'd like to expect some degree of maturity and change, especially for a band that's been active for nearly 30 years.

I don't understand why they are compared to Linkin Park. LP has talent, and say what you want, but they're not posers. Hollywood Undead might be the worst band ever. Crappy music, crappy look, it's the complete package of what bad bands should be like. I saw "Swan Songs" cover and thought they were like those bank robbers from the beginning of the Dark Knight movie. So, I thought theyd be cool. Nope. Never been more wrong in my life. Listen to real music like Linkin Park, or even From Ashes to New. WAY better.

Ladies and gentlemen I am pleased to say the worst band on earth is here. For years hollywood undead have made awful music and been the worst SLIPNOT ripoff ever. My 10 year old sister likes them, I try to explain to her that they are are cheesey as hell. They have retarded masks they HOLD with their HANDS and make garbage music.

Nightwish, epica, evanescence, within temptation are better metal bands fronted be girls than this bull, this aren't deathcore, carnifex and whitechapel are better deathcore

I voted for this band as it is not even metal. I mean Lamb of God, Cradle of Filth, Skid Row, hell all these bands could at least be considered as metal. But just listen to Brokencyde. There are hardly any elements in their music that even resembles metal. The closest thing that even makes them resemble metal is the screamed vocals, and they are still done in the wrong technique.

While I don't mind Limp Bizkit or Nickelback, I simply cannot STAND Brokencyde. What they do is pop music with screams to attract the scene kids. They are an absolute disgrace to metal and should never have seen the light of day.

This needs to be in the top 10. Not only did it contribute to TONS of negative metal stereotypes, the fans are posers, they hate on any DM band that isn't gory enough for them. The lyrics are uninspired and terrible, vocals are painful to listen to, and their best song is probably the only DM song I listened to and wanted to stop listening to. Personally I'm more of a prog/melodeath fan, but even as an outsider of extreme DM, I can tell it is a bad band.

Their lyrics are just horrible! They should be number one, because while music can be anything we want it to be, there's a fine line between bad, terrifying, and just utterly despicable. Their album covers are scary too. The moment I saw one, I instantly knew that I wasn't even going to bother listening to them. They are just horrible in every way.

I used to love this band. Two years later, its dried out for the most part.

Bullet For My Valentine aren't bad, and they do have some genuinely good songs, but in all honesty, they don't stand out much outside of Metalcore, already a genre with a polarizing reputation. They're okay overall, with some good stuff and some mediocre material here and there. And lastly, most of their content isn't Metal, and the band's frontman even outright stated that Bullet For My Valentine was a "Hard Rock band with Metal influences".

Blood On The Dance Floor is not metal! This band is just a bunch of idiots who create terrible music! I have never hated a band so much in my whole life and I feel like to listen to Metallica, Aerosmith, Queen, Bruce Springsteen, AC/DC and many other great rock/metal legends rather than listen to these sick jerks! They do stupid songs that have nothing to do with anything whatsoever and Dahvie Vanity is the worst person you will ever meet in your life. I'm dead serious! Go see a better person rather than him, and also he can't sing for crap!

I started to hate this band after reading some controversies about this sicko and I heard a few songs by them, one with Joel Madden from Good Charlotte. Joel was good, the sicko not! Their songs are so disgusting and I would just vomit on the floor after hearing their stuff if somebody stupid told me to! Plus, their band name has nothing to do with Michael Jackson's song of the same name (Michael Jackson's song is very good by the way! ), which is based on a number of true facts (Don't want to list them sorry! ).

I first heard of this disgusting band during my last swimming carnival this year (in 2017) when my old friend decided to play their music. I felt disgusted after listening to that and I decided to stay away from that person for a very long time, until the day I die! If you want to listen to some nice music, stay right away from Dahive Vanity's stupid band and just listen to the rock/metal legends I mentioned earlier and also if you want, listen to Black Veil Brides, they are way better than this band. Andy from Black Veil Brides is better than Dahive Vanity the sicko jerk.

Finally, this band must be voted for number 1!

Worst metal band I have ever seen. They are hopeless. The vocalist doesn't sound good. It gives like a horror sound. Moreover, the music is the worst ever and sound like funny when people hears. The lead guitarist cannot play an attractive music.
The music is very funny.
Studio music gives clear voice and cool music but makes no sense and doesn't make any interest. It gives only irritating and overacts the way they are. Their concert music always flops and doesn't make sense at all.
Vocal, music and about everything is hopeless and sounds like a crap.

I've been asking myself, how is this not number 1? This is definitely the worst band to ever exist in the world! This band is even worse than Bieber and one direction! With untalented useless musicians and especially frontman, black metal is the worst genre of music but this band will always be the worst seriously guys they need to do the world a favor and stop just stop!

I'll agree that they aren't that great of a band, but a few songs are decent. And anyone who thinks they're a black metal band is a retard. Paul Allender even said that they've never tried to be a black metal band. They're more of a gothic metal band.

Generic Deathcore band that tries to be as br00tal as possible.

Suicide silence is possibly a the worst band ever. Firstly they are just trying way too hard to be death metal, when their growls just sound like the singer has a lougie in his throat and they look to emo/scene/douchy to ever be hardcore, Second, they inspired all these stupid deathcore/ metalcore bands there are now, like Black veil Brided and waking the cadaver.

Other bands here are worse, but I don't consider a lot of them to be metal, but I do this band, so I voted here. Mitch Licker was one of the worst vocalists and lyricists in metal, although I'm not glad of his death.
