Beautiful nature and good-mannered people. The food is underrated (Just Lucy, lefse, and Hmong cuisine) and the lakes are a great place to take your kids. The state fairs have a wild mix of fried food, butter statues, and rides. Minneapolis is an interesting city with people of many backgrounds gathered together. Another wonderful alternative is St. Paul. Compared to Chicago, our urban areas may seem bland, but it's just tragically underrated. The countryside is peaceful and folks here have traditional values without the racism.
